His chin is very underrated he has only been ko'ed once... That McCall bs doesn't count.
No he got sparked Twice ::**
In the Rahman fight he was ko'd good and proper he could'nt beat the count in the McCall fight he was stopped on his feet but he was still stopped but 2 stoppage defeats does'nt mean he had a bad chin he had a good chin and also showed great character in defeating the fighters who defeated him

And when you look at the punches that KO'd him from both Rahman and McCall they were not just hard they were friken Career making Shots....Not to mention Lewis was out of shape for both fights....He was gassed by the time Rahman caught him...He had not trained the last 2-3 weeks before the fight and came to SA like 3 days prior to the fight not giving himself a chance to adjust to the altitude so he could film a scene with Wlad Klitschko in Oceans 11...and at the time he lost to McCall Oliver was highly regarded.....
Lewis had a good chin over all..not great but not soft either
Agreed and :coolclick: back.Quote:

Hearns chin wasn't as good as Lewis's chin.Quote:

Hearns went to war more than Lennox and in my mind and he took better shots and had more confidence than Lennox. Just the way he fought makes me think that he thought he could take the punches. Lennox always sort of jabbed and leaned back and then threw the right almost as though he were afraid of the counter coming his way. And his foot positioning was terrible, whereas Tommy had better foot movement prior to 160 pounds. I think Lennox's style was more a safety first style to protect his chin and he did a good job not getting hit, but Tommy tried more to make fights exciting. So what might look like a weaker chin might be a guy who tried to excite the fans more. Tommy also went punch for punch with Hagler. as well as Iran Barkley and others like Delgado.. Dewiit. etc. Alot of people just know Hearns from his big fights. He had alot of smaller fights where he took punches.
Yes he went punch for punch with Hagler but Hagler was never one punch ko sort of fighter he used to wear you down with his short jolting punches like he did with Mugabi and Hearns was stopped early anyway and he didn't go punch for punch with Barkley he stayed on outside and was giving Barkley a beating and when Barkley landed his only good punch in that fight Hearns was down and i remember him being wobbled quite bad from that other guy it was before Barkley fight can't remember his name but i think Hearns has ton of heart but i think real problem is his weak legs thats what lets him down but in chin terms Lewis has better one he took flush shots of Gary Mason who had excellent ko record of 35 wins and 32 kos if i remember right also took flush shots of David Tua Ray Mercer Vitali Shannon Briggs Frank Bruno Evander Holyfield and Tony Tucker all good hw punchers im sorry im big fan of Tommy but in chin terms Lewis has better one.Quote:
