Re: David Haye v Tomasz Bonin DRBR 10pm UK time Friday
oh aye, sorry smash! cc
Its not only his personality that makes him a potential superstar, he's got the skills to back it up too. This guy's got pedigree. Outstanding amatuer career, phenomenal athletic ability, natural punching power, I could go on. He's been matched hard since the day he started his pro career, taking tough fights early, and not only that but he's looked spectacular fighting these guys. I was watching the Arthur Williams fight on youtube, which is a very tough fight for 9-0 novice to take, and David Haye savaged the old man! same goes for Glen Kelly and Alexander Gurov, who were both stern tests for a young fighter. He's shown a lot in his career, that he can dig deep, that he can box when he wants to, that he's got the power to take out even the most experienced and hard fighters. I dont even worry about his chin any more. He's been hit plenty of times, and although he's been knocked down twice I think now he's had that experience he copes better under pressure. He doesn't fall to piece or panic if the other guy comes on strong, which he showed against fragomeni last time out of course. He's even tasted defeat already, so he's already lost the stigma of being a protected "0" fighter.
If he looks good against Bonin, which I think he will, and if he beats Mormeck, which is also possible, then were gonna have the most exciting heavyweight prospect in the world on our hands. No question.
Now I've said all that I bet he gets knocked out on friday ;)

I take it this fight isn't on in the US? Does anyone know where I might be able to stream it live over the Net, if so I would really appreciate it, I really want to watch this fight.

Okay, been scouring the internet and came across the weight here on Frank Maloney's site:
http://www.frankmaloney.com/html/mod...rticle&sid=460
For the lazy amongst you here's the weights anyway:
David Haye weighed 15 stone 7 pounds (217 lbs) and his opponent Tomasz Bonin comes in at 16 stone 7 pounds (231 lbs).
For the light heavyweight title fight Peter Oboh (12 stone 6; 174lbs) held a four pound advantage over opponent Tony Oakey (12 stone 2; 170 lbs).
Re: David Haye v Tomasz Bonin DRBR 10pm UK time Friday
217lbs, shit I feel sorry for him having to get down to cruiserweight. Hope that Mormeck fight comes soon. I get the feeling Mormeck will try and drag it out and protract it knowing that Haye won't be able to make the weight for much longer, so I hope the WBC make thatfight happen sooner rather than later coz Haye's not gonna be a cruiserweight much longer.
So if he moves up to Heavyweight, what d'ya reckon his weight will settle at? 220lbs? 225lbs? He's a big lad with a big frame he could probably carryup to 240lbs pretty comfortably if he trained to gain muscle and mass. He's too big for cruiserweight, Mormeck is not a big cruiserweight at all he's more like a light-heavyweight, whereas Haye is very strong at cruiserweight.
Re: David Haye v Tomasz Bonin DRBR 10pm UK time Friday
Here are some pics from the David Haye myspace page of the fight weigh-in, and I think David Haye looks a little less cut than he usually does, because he has to lose so much of his body fat to make the weight. I reckon he won't be a heavy guy at heavyweight, shouldn't really go over 230lbs unless he is really packing the muscle on to further increase the power behind his fists.

And here's the hairy beast he'll be facing....I sense a charity chest wax in the offing for young Tomasz. ;)

OK, crouch, hold, engage......squeeeeeeeze.
I'm showing up minutes before the fight as usual, and I'm really starting to look forward to this one now. Been thinking about it most of the day and I fancy Haye to be at his destructive best tonight.
I just got home from interviewing Enzo Maccarinelli a couple of hours ago, and just sent it off to the Saddo's editor, so it should be on the front page of the site sometime. He's heard that if Haye really impresses tonight then he won't return to cruiser to fight Mormeck, and that Haye will stay as a heavyweight. Anyhow, it's bums on seats time, and the show starts in the next ten minutes.

Re: David Haye v Tomasz Bonin DRBR 10pm UK time Friday
Ah not Westwood again !!!
Why, if you think of yourself as a credible world class performer would you want to come to the ring to Tim Westwood ?
Re: David Haye v Tomasz Bonin DRBR 10pm UK time Friday
He looks so much healthier at heavyweight, expecting a great show here.
Re: David Haye v Tomasz Bonin DRBR 10pm UK time Friday
Ok, the ringwalks. Bonin is playing up to that Eastern European bruiser, he comes in for some deep brass obo's etc in a dirge, and he looks confident, like he's there for business. Not an overly pleasant welcome for the away fighter.
I love Haye's intro, with Tim Westwood bigging him up and about three clips from rap songs. He's looking pretty chilled, and gets a fair cheer, but also a few boos coming from the crowd.
