Re: Casamayor targets Diaz!
I think Diaz would beat Casamayor by decision, the way he fights, he just forces the pace, it doesn't matter what you do, southpaw, awkward, it doesn't matter all Diaz does is pop pop pop and absorb the return. It'll take someone with more speed and output to beat Diaz, or someone with a big punch.
Re: Casamayor targets Diaz!
I think this would be a great fight and should definitely happen. Until someone beats him, Casamayor is the top dog in the division. He's the linear champ, and deserves this fight--especially considering that he was the one Popo was supposed to be fighting.
I think I tend to agree with those who would favor Diaz's activity over Casa at this stage of Casa's career. Casamayor's style has reminded me of the later-stage B-Hop style in recent fights--very defensive and cagey, but very offensively inactive. I don't see Diaz landing much clean on Casa, and definitely don't see Casa getting hurt, but I don't see judges giving Casa a ton of rounds where he's throwing less than half as much as Diaz. And I don't see Diaz getting KO'd.
Re: Casamayor targets Diaz!
I'd also LOVE to see Diaz vs. Hatton. That fight would be non-stop (unless/until Hatton starts hugging in round 6 like he has recently).
