Not that I don't think Jones is not an over all great fighter but I more or less count all of Jones achievements...4 division titles ect
I dont know about the jones jr situation..
As far as it goes.. Light heavy lacks legends..
Now thats not bs..Its true..When you think of the legends there have been..They are prime time legends no doubt..But no where near the amount of say welterweights or middlwieghts..
My opinion is..Jones is best at supermiddle.. And a legendary fighter..
He MIGHT..be the best lightheavy..But thats not him at his best.. But the competition at middle and super middle is too steep to just say.. That jones jr is the best middle or supermiddle.. So he is rated higher at light heavy.. Its a strange way of thinking i know..
Bob Foster, Ezzard Charles,Michael Spinks,Virgil Hill,
where dick tiger fabrice tiozzo and dariusz michalczewswski there were good at lght heavy
there are 9 great legends in this weight divisions
the most popular are rjj & billy coon
micheal spinks light hvy opponets wernt the best
rjj the best in his era and had to much of a better boxer than the other light heavy weight also becoming the first undisputed light hvy champ
rjj is the best
If this was the year 2017 people would say Roy Jones, but his legacy is to fresh and many people will give other names. In time RJJ's legend will grow out of hand along with others

I guess your right. The biggest victory was the onslaught of James Toney but that was at 168. I alway's wanted him to fight Jirov and Milecowitz when they were undefeated. You must admit that Montel Griffin was undefeated at his peak when he smashed him.Quote:

True, Charles beat Moore 3 times, but a lot of guys dodged Moore and he did not get a title shot until he was 39 yrs. old. Moore's record shows that he beat a lot of top ten guys and future hall of famers. Joey Maxim, Nino Valdez, Harold Johnson, Yvon Durrelle, Jimmy Bivins, Teddy Yarosz to name a few. He retired in 1963 with a win over Mike DiBiase at the age of 50. He lost to Cassius Clay at age 49 and retired with an overall record of 183-24-10 with 131 KO's. He fought from 1936 until 1963. Not many guys today have that kind of longevity.
Ezzard Charles, Archie Moore,Bob Foster were all great. Jose Torres wasnt bad either
