This program just showes he has no class and respect for anybody.
Floyd knows he can't play up anything nice compared to the 'darling' of boxing (that's De La Hoya, in case you missed it). His best bet to sell the fight to PPV customers (there is no way he is not getting a share of the PPV buys) AND to be remembered is to push the envelope. This is the job of your typical radio / TV shock jock, to create controversy that will have the listeners (even those that hate him or her) tuning in to see what will be said next or what the outcome of the next confrontation will be. Mayweather is being a jackass, not because that is who he is. He's a jackass because the boxing fan that is straddling the fence on wanting to purchase the fight on PPV will lean more and more towards paying to see Mayweather lose. The casual Mayweather fan will buy the PPV airing to see him notch a big win over the established Golden Boy of boxing. The casual De La Hoya fan will buy the PPV airing to see De La Hoya notch a big win over the notorious Pretty Boy of boxing. The non-boxing fan will not care either way, but the casual boxing fan in general is still undecided. Is De La Hoya hyping the fight as much as Mayweather? I don't see De La Hoya really marketing his potential to be the first one to defeat Mayweather. However, Mayweather is doing all possible to really keep the casual boxing fan entertained and curious enough to consider paying for the PPV event. He's creating a live soap opera where viewers can't wait to tune in and see what happens next. Aaron Spelling couldn't have done a better job.
Re: PBF - what a tosser. Hope he gets sparked
PBF made his bed, now he has to lay on it.
Don't you guys remember the whole cutting the hair part where he says: I'm a reall muthafu**a, 50 cent is a real muthafu**a I'm a real muthafu**a thats why we friends we talk about real things.
So according to him, hes a real muthafu**a. Hes no longer selling the fight. The fight sold itself the second ODLH announced he was planning on fighting again.
Re: PBF - what a tosser. Hope he gets sparked
floyd did say that he and his team are being treated like shiite, he says its hell doing business with oscar. he is angry that he was accused of stealing food by oscar lot. he goes on to say that he doesnt have to steal food, he's got enough money to buy a car, a house. he dusnt need to steal food. he is also angry of being accused by oscar of stealin oscars stuff in his bag (training gear)
http://youtube.com/watch?v=3lIJHcMbTsI
he goes on to say that oscar will have bad luck in life cos he isnt greatful. i kinda agree. why did he become cheap when it came to a big fight and not pay the 2 mil to floyd sr, a F****** bargain. i hear oscar is getting 30 mill plus for this fight. i read on bbc news that he is getting 15 mil pounds!!!! and floyd 6!
if u watch this interview u will realise why oscar is a jew. floyd aint as bad u lot think he is. btw i wanted him to lose his last fight and this fight but i now support him cos i have realised he deserves alot of respect for his achievements. mayorga said it and floyd is saying it, oscar kinda fools the public to thinking that he is some sort of angel when he aint.floyd jr sayin that oscar dont stay with his fans after press conference whilst he was with all his fans and doing interviews holding all of their mikes for them...lol. and by the way floyd has proven he knows how to sell tickets! this thread proves it!
as far as fight prediction
listen to vito antuofermo's prediction cos its what i think is gonna happen. i would like to add that floyd could fight oscar on the inside he has the defensive skills similar to toney. so he could but im not sure if he will be able to hurt oscar on the inside. oscar not having nuttin lose might jus start going crazy throwing punches. im still looking forward to this fight! everytime i look at an oscar highlight i start gettin excited for this fight cos i think theres gonna be a fight. when i think of oscar against mayorga, then that oscar will get hurt badly!
check out this link of predictions by fighters!

Re: PBF - what a tosser. Hope he gets sparked
I think Oscar summed it up well in one of those interviews when he said (paraphrasing from memory), he's not playing the villian, he is a villian, that's who he is.
This has nothing to do with promotion, this is who Floyd is. Marketing genious? He's been an arrogant ass for a long time, so why has that marketing genious never turned into such mega success before? He has craved an event like this for years, but for some reason was never able to acheive it until a fight with the real marketing genious, De La Hoya.
When he compares himself to Ali I have to laugh. At times Ali's mocking and ridicule could be harsh, but there was almost always something theatrical to it. Something that would make you chuckle when you saw it, even if you didn't want to. Also, even when he seemed at his worse, you could see Ali's character and purpose in what he was doing.
He stood up agaisnt the war, against racism, as an advocate for his faith, and often paid a heavy price for it. While he wasn't always honorable, to this day I hate much of went on between him and Frazier and think he treated that man very unfairly, you knew what he was fighting for and why. You have to respect that.
How does this compare with Floyd? Except for the loud mouth part, not in any singe way. The more Floyd talks the more he comes across as a nasty, pathetic, insecure little man.
Re: PBF - what a tosser. Hope he gets sparked
I personally find it all entertaining, Floyd aint gonna put more bums on seats with the way he is acting (its already a massive fight) but the 24/7 series is really good to watch and it is generating HUGE interest (There are people at work who are not even boxing fans asking me where they can see it and asking me about the fighters)
People love boxers to hate each other going into the ring, it makes it more exiting, if the fight lives up to the hype it's gonna be a great boost for boxing and that's exactly what boxing needs right now IMO. All I can say is the 24/7 series has got me so bloody exited I cant wait for the bell to sound!

Fucking good post !!!
Everything that i was gonna say about Floyd Mayweather has already been said !!
His Dad and his uncle are 2 of the nastiest brain damaged shitheads ever to grace the noble art !!
It's down to upbringing , Roger Mayweather has always been an idiot remember him trying to start a fight with Sweet Pea in the dressing room or given it the big'un before Chavez smashed that Beautiful right hand into his moosh and sent him home with his tail between his legs !!
Floyd is just conditioned in that way of no respect !!!
The way he treated that sparring partner was just despicable , getting his son to go over and tell him he is going to get whupped , that was one of the vilest things i have ever seen !
Imagine Floyd without his talent ! He is so insecure and responds with hostility at the slightest hint of criticism because he doesn't have the intelligence to respond with anything else !
He'd probably be at home sniffing Mummys knickers if his complete cretin of a father hadn't slipped on his gloves !!
Floyd Mayweather snr a great trainer ? The man can barely manage 2 coherent words , I'd gladly shit on his face given the chance !
Re: PBF - what a tosser. Hope he gets sparked
Trash talking sells tickets always has and always will we have a good guy and a bad guy thats what interests us some root for the good guy some for the bad guy Floyd has taken on the role of bad guy am i wrong in thinking Floyd is normally a nice guy. This fight is massive because of the hype that goes with it these are two future hall of famers this fight will be great styles make fights Mayweather talks some shit and people then want Oscar to shut him up it builds up the interest in the fight similar to Tyson his life was a roller coaster ride but we tuned in to watch to see what would happen next.Trash talking and negative behaviour sells fights i predict after this fight Floyd is gracious in victory or defeat if Floyd had'nt trash talked about Oscar on the press tour and in other interviews their would'nt have been this sort of interest in the fight now everybodys interested even non boxing fans

fine if you're 5 years old but he isn't which is why he's a clown.
"The fight sold itself the second ODLH announced he was planning on fighting again."
Exactly no one has to play act anything you only look like a fool if you do.
Re: PBF - what a tosser. Hope he gets sparked
From all acounts Mayweather is a tosser even when there are no cameras to play up to.
Re: PBF - what a tosser. Hope he gets sparked
What are people talking about when they say that Floyd is trying to sell the fight?! This fight sold itself the day it was announced....PERIOD. And i don't want to burst anyones bubble...but the BIGGEST reason why this fought sold out is because of Oscar. Love him or hate him...Oscar is the one boxer who the casual sports fan knows. He could show up tomorrow and fight some complete nobody...and the fight would sell out. THAT is what being a superstar is. Floyd doesn't have that appeal...he never has...he never will. And deep down it's pisses him off beyond belief. Not saying Oscar is an angel...but i don't see him cussing in front of his kids, gambling in front of his kids, walking around with huge sums of cash in front of his kids. You are telling me Floyd does that to sell the fight?!!! It doesn't take a rocket scientist to know the man is arrogant and insecure. And you can't blame him...look at his biggest influences....his insane father and uncle.
Re: PBF - what a tosser. Hope he gets sparked
well said- the cash bit really fucked me off to with him bragging about it etc..
What he was carrying round and showing off with many people don't earn in a year.
but like you said - look at the influences on his life, he isn't entirely to blame.
then again its no excuse, everybody knows right from wrong - right ??? :-\
Really dislike the guy
Re: PBF - what a tosser. Hope he gets sparked
for everyone who keeps saying that the fight is already sold...the fight isn't sold until may 5 is over...because some of floyd's salary is based from PPV buys....so until may 6 no one knows how much the fight has sold...yeah the arena might be sold out...but now its about the PPV buys...the fight is $55 for PPV, that's 5 bucks more than any other PPV fight so...if they can do 1 million PPV buys floyd might take home a total of 20 million so he has to keep selling....besides none of that matters...every one who picks fighters based off whether or not "you'd hang out with him" is probably why some of people picked gatti over floyd...but nevertheless floyd wins 120-108....unless he decides to pull a michael moore and stand still in the later rounds and get dusted off....
Re: PBF - what a tosser. Hope he gets sparked
well, think of it this way...
24/7 is a show that needs to entertain people, if there was no Villain and good guy the show would take a dive. Contreversy means money
Re: PBF - what a tosser. Hope he gets sparked
I think this could get more PPV buys because it brings emotion into it even for the casual fan because of PBF's antics. A lot of people will want to see him get KO'ed after seeing the way he acted towards ODLH and that could lead to more people tuning in because it builds their interest.
Re: PBF - what a tosser. Hope he gets sparked
This could quite possibly be the most bitter, jealous, venemous thread I have ever read on this forum :-\
