Post your scorecard for Mayweather- De La Hoya
I just went back and watched the fight again.... sober this time. Here's my scorecard.
Same rules for this thread as the old thread where we scored old controversial fights....
Don't just come here and say "Oscar should have won" or "I thought Floyd won easy".... back up your statements with a round-by-round scorecard.

Yeah that's almost exactly my card... I had DLH winning the 3rd round is only difference... 116-112 Mayweather.
Re: Post your scorecard for Mayweather- De La Hoya
Mayweather 10 9 9 9 10 10 9 9 10 10 10 10 115

De La Hoya 9 10 10 10 9 10 10 10 10 10 9 9 116
116-115 De La Hoya, but the first could easily have been even and rounds 8 and 9 could easily have been De La Hoya. Although De La Hoya was not aswalys the most effective, Mayweather's work rate was far too low IMO in too many rounds.
In classic scoring
Effective agression: Mayweather was more effective but De La Hoya still got through with more, purely by virute of higher work rate. Even
Defence: Mayweather edge, he covered up well
Clean and hard punching: Again, it is De La Hoya's work rate which allowed him to slightly edge it.
Ring Generalship: De La Hoya easily. Mayweather needed to keep the fight at ring centre but was backed to the ropes far too often.
It was really close, but I stand by my score card, De La Hoya should have won.

Ditto for me. Oscar won the third, but everything else is exact.

Re: Post your scorecard for Mayweather- De La Hoya
I agree with Dutch sam, forget about cleaner punches, who bullied who, mayweather was pushed around, from a general perspective most people would say oscar did him,
but i think people get fooled by mayweather speed, he only landed very few clean punches on de la hoyas face as did de la hoya. Mayweathers punches were slipped off de la hoyas gloves, if so clean connections weres the blood and bruises to back it up

So you objectively watched every round of the fight, and thought that Oscar won the 8th round, and that he deserved to have the 9th and 10th scored even?? It's just not plausible for anyone who actually appreciates the sport of boxing to score it like that imo...
Re: Post your scorecard for Mayweather- De La Hoya
what abut mayweathers dad, and the judge who gave it to de la hoya,
You have beat the champion decisively

The fight was Oscar's to lose after round 8 - and he stopped doing everything that he'd been doing up to that point. Ran out of gas, is my opinion - but Floyd did start connecting more in those last rounds, too.
I'm still disturbed that so many people are counting those shots from PBF that Oscar was picking off with his gloves.
Or maybe dumbfounded is a better word. Either way, those punchstat totals are crap.

Come on man, you're really reaching here. Mayweather's dad still trains Golden Boy fighters and would probably like to probably train Oscar if there is a rematch. So what do you think he would say? Do you think that he's gonna support his son who he's estranged from or the guy that writes his huge checks? He wants to drum up controversy so that there can be a rematch and he can get paid the second time around. The judge might have seen it ODLH's way but the other two judges plus every national sports website including SI, ESPN, USA Today, every boxing website and writer had Mayweather winning the fight.
By the way, this fight was about a lot more than that title. When you have two fighters of this caliber, all that beat the champion shit doesn't matter. Both men are even and it's about legacy.
