That money that we, the fans pay, we all shell out a lot of money, and we keep this sport alive, so now, what boxing, the promoters and the TV people really needs to do is give it back to us fans, because without US the sport dies. Where the F*** is our pay off? A ticket for a football, soccer, baseball, basketball theatre etc. costs a 1/3 of a F****** damn boxing ticket, so where's our pay off? Where's the value? I went to see UFC, I paid £120 ($240) and for that I met all the fighters, I attended the weigh in and I even had a drink with the boss, thats right Dana White bought be a F****** pint of Fosters, that is what boxing is competing with, every fight on the card I didn't have a clue who was gonna win and they were all very exciting. I went to see Calzaghe v Lacy and I paid £318 ($630) for my ticket and I felt like I had been dry bummed, 2 good fights on the whole card and nothing but a F*** you the day before.
CC #400 haahha i love your story bro!

Re: Delahoya-Mayweather Richest Boxing Fight ever 2.15 million PPV buys
Its a crying shame that boxing sells these big fights PPV anyways. Because it sold so much does not mean boxing is now suddenly popular after a long hiatus. 2 Million PPV'S means a tiny minority of people in the US actually watched the fight. Even if people that got the PPV invited a whole cascade of friend rounds to watch it, it still makes the number of people seeing the biggest fight in years actually quite a small figure. Considering these are two American fighters. One being the biggest name and the other being P4P number 1, its a shame that such a small proportion of the nation actually got to watch. PPV is an elitist thing that only deprives boxing from being a sport that truly connects to the mass populace.
Boxing needs to try and find a way to make its popularity grow...this fight was a relative success but where is the big fight to follow it? Long on the horizon! :-\

Holyfield got $34 mil. and Tyson got just under $30 mil. If you remember, Tyson was fined $3 million for the bite, since at the time, 10% of the purse was the maximum that could be taken. It was after that fight that the commission ruled from then on, an entire purse could be taken.
