Eamonn Magee v Kevin Anderson - British Welterweight Title

Round 10:

Gentle body shot from Anderson.Accurate jabs from Magee. Anderson coming forward, but not quite landing. Magee has a cut way above his hairline...even if he is balding. Magee accurate with counters, but two deent body shots from Anderson. Magee countering well, but as they clinch Anderson seems to swing his head at MAgee's. Big right lands from Anderson. Body shots get Magee as well. Magee comes in, and Anderson sidesteps out of it. Anderson inviting Magee forward, and Magee jabs to the stomach. Nice jab from Anderson, and a hook from Magee ends the round.

Ding-dong is a phrase made for this, and Anderson's round.

Round 11:

I reckon Magee probably needs to drop Anderson. Anderson lands a nice straight right. Jab and hook from Anderson, but Magee is doubling that southpaw jab. Jab opens up the guard for Anderson's right. Magee coming forward with some good hooks, and jabs, and Magee looks better. Anderson comes back with good hooks and body shots and it's getting interesting. Good right makes Magee hang on for a clinch. Magee coming forward but himself gets countered with hooks upstairts. Jab,Jab hook does nicely for Magee, and a body shot from Anderson. Beautiful right from Anderson, and Magee is on his arse. Anderson charging forward with jabs, straights and hook, Magee hands on. Magee wants to hang on to the 'never been stopped' tag as he looks to survive the round. The gumshield has come out for Magee. Anderson just needs to avoid the KO now.

Good to see Magee grinning, and banging his gloves at Anderson's punch.


Round 12:

Last chance saloon for Magee. Anderson with a body shot. Magee seems to have recovered. Straight right to the chest from Anderson. Magee having to cover up as Anderson looks to drop jabs and hooks on him. Good right hook from Magee though, but Anderson keeps coming forward. Body shots from Magee and Anderson clinches. MAgee jabbing more accurately, and nice short hooks. Anderson not doing too much but cover up and not get KO'd. Jab, hook from Anderson, but Magee lands a body shot back. Magee with jab and uppercut grazing Anderson. Jabs again from Magee, but Anderson not done much.

Magee's round. 116-112 to Anderson, good performance from him after that shock defeat.

Ah man, I'll put that down to the home advantage, but I can see that Anderson was for the most part coming forward and swinging more, so they might have given it on aggression. Ah, to be honest with you, having reported for Saddos from ringside on a few fights, I know how it can look different on TV to how it us up close.
