did you guys see how big trinidad was in 24/7? he must have been over 200 lbs. No way he ever makes 160 again, Tito is done just face it.

Yeah Puya talked about how he met him just recently and he was huge. Good point I never even thought of that.
crap pbf fighting another oldie. :-[ staying retired to preserve his undefeated record and to avoid crappy mandatory challenges and possible real tough match ups and have the privilege to call out more oldies on his own disgression. cheap trick floyd. sadly, fans knows that and ultimately "respect" will be handed to those who are truly worthy. So don't go berserk saying "you don't get the proper respect you should get thus the need to retire" don't blame the fans, it's your own doing that you got yourself in that situation. Fans respect and appreciate your skills for sure, but you can never attain the type of respect you long for years for as long as you keep choosing cheap tricky fights to make you look good and WOW some old veteran fans just because you intend to fight at higher weights with some great great names but we all know they aren't just old but rusty as well. Well, it's never too late after the oldie tito, you can always fight some real career threatening active fighters, boxers that the fans really want you to fight with, just clean them up, we know you're capable it's just a matter of execution, the heart and desire to do it. after that, all the respect in the world you ever longed will be yours once and for all.
You're acting as if 15 years have passed and Floyd is in his mid 40s, long retired, and never having faced another good challenger after the DLH fight. Since we all know he isn't going to retire, can we at least wait until the actual opponent is named before lashing into him for no reason. If he does in fact say that his next fight will be against either Mosley, Cotto, or the Williams-Margarito winner, this criticism is meaningless. All I'm saying is wait for something to be written in stone.Quote:

His ego wont let him though and thats when hell get his first loss. When athletes like Floyd fall, they fall hard.
Floyd should definantly go to 160!!!!! He would gain a TON of respect from me!!!
Mayweather Jr. vs any of these would be good: Miranda, Abraham, Taylor, Pavlik....get outta town buddy if he pulled that off he would be considered a GREAT fighter even from ME!!!
I disagree here because to me, this is like when Roy went to heavyweight and picked Ruiz. I don't think anyone on this board thinks that was either his toughest fight, nor was it his most memorable win. IMO, there's nothing heroic about moving up in weight if you aren't gunning for the best in that division, and as mentioned earlier in this thread, Taylor is just too big and would probably seriously hurt Floyd. He'd gain much more respect from me, and I think by a large majority of people, by taking on either Shane Mosley or Miguel Cotto, rather than Abraham or Miranda (not saying those two aren't good, but not the most intriguing threats).Quote:

IMO it would show Floyd is willing to take risks and that is my biggest problem with him (aside from his bad attitude)
No one's arguing against the speed advantage he'd have, but ask yourself this; why did Floyd come into the DLH fight basically weighing the same as he does when he fought at welterweight? It's because he's reached the point where he can't go up any further. You can't simply stay at 147-148 pounds and just expect to prance through divisions at will. Floyd had his hands full with Oscar, a fighter who we all know himself had no business ever going to middleweight, so what is a true middleweight going to do to Mayweather?Quote:

Even if he weighed in 158 for a fight at Middleweight hed either be too muscular or too fat. Either way he would be slower. Even in the Oscar fight he was a little slower than he was a Welterweight. At this weight Mosley is faster. As he keeps moving up hes abandoning his natural gifts and stregnths and these guys will not respect his power so he cant keep them off him. His punches even bounced off Baldo and Oscar.
The only fighter Floyd should fight at middleweight would be Cory Spinks if he pulled out the unbelievable.
Besides, unless Floyd signed with Goldenboy, I think Oscar would try to nix this fight somehow, and get in the ring with Tito himself.
I personally would rather see Floyd fight the top guys at 147. If he unifies ww, then, maybe go out with a bang at 160. But 160 is pushing the limit, even for a fighter of Floyd's caliber.
I think he could beat Miranda as Edison is EASILY frustrated and would foul out of that fight.
Kassim Ouma would be a tough test for Floyd
This post stinks to high Bullshit!!!!! Floyd just fought the pinnacle fight of his career ans now he is making noise in the media... Like he would really fight Trinidad ::** I'm sure an intelligent Fella like you can see that, but that probably works contrary to your Floyd hatred... If it was another fighter surely you would discern the differenceQuote:

The beat barometer will be Spinks and how effective he is, Spinks is slick and very effective, if he can hang then Floyd could, other than that FLOYD STAY THE HELL AWAY!!!!!!!!!!!!
....TAKE A CHANCE FLOYD!!!
What's the worst that could happen???
Well I'm willing to RISK IT
