confined spaces. lifts make me nervous

Thanks to psychology class i realized why i'm weird about spiders. I was walking in a stream one day while i was little and i felt something on my foot. I picked it up out of the water and there was a black spider bigger than my entire foot just sitting there. Seeing it shocked me and i guess i mentally associated the shock with the spider instead of the enssence of surprize. I used to be afraid of snakes but after watching several episodes of the steve irwin look like a clown i feel like i can take on all reptiles (i'm still not messing with poisonous ones tho).
