I'm getting bored of the "who Floyd should fight next" threads as well.
I was about to say him too.
But seeing his name makes me so physically ill that I couldn't even bare to type his name.
My soul just wouldn't let me.

You dont think holyfield is an all time great?
He's had a great career.. Fought the best, in the biggest heavyweight fights in history
Multi time world heavyweight champion and great cruiser..
Sure he's not top ten but i think theres a case for him bieng in the top 20

depends on the list but top 20 is reasonable enough in the 18-20 range.
there are many on here that will flat out say that youre wrong if you dont have him in your top 5. im serious (jt rock ;))
he lost 2 out of 3 to bowe in his "prime" (3 out of 3 if you ask me) lost to michael moorer also while evander was in his "prime", and on the back end of his career he was a borderline journeyman.
dont bring up the hepatitis because the steroids more than offset that ;)
and for the people who argue that he was a "four time heavyweight champion," the reason for that is simple:
the guy couldnt defend a title for shit. hed get a title, lose it immeadeatly, get it back from some clown, lose it again, get it back, etc. etc.
this is not career that warrants all time greatness
Re: Fighters you got sick of hearing about...
Hey,at least hed have to fight somebody to get it back, unlike Ruiz, whod lose it,and somehow miraculously because either somebody didnt fight a mandatory,or just abdicated, get it handed back to him ;D
Re: Fighters you got sick of hearing about...
Sick of hearing people, normally Floyd nuthuggers who think he is the second coming, that he is in the top 10 greateest fighters ever. That pisses me off. He is an awesome fighter though.

:coolclick: boxinggorllia for a good thread idea.
Personally there arn't any boxers that I hate hearing about but there are plenty of postings about boxers that I find repetative and grating.
Some of my pet hates.
Floyd is ducking Margarito... this really winds me up when I see this posted at least once a week it seems. No he isn't.
Floyd isn't p4p 1. Come on be serious for a second, if he isn't who the F*** is cos nobody else ain't doing what he's done. Stop your hating.
Margarito is a bum....This gets to me too. It seems you either have to believe he's the one to beat Floyd, or he's a complete no hoper. Why can't people just assess him fairly, i.e a big strong, tough as nails fighter who will give anybody trouble but has defensive weaknesses and hasn't properly been tested at 147 lbs yet?
And my biggest pet of all........
The best fighters are at the lower weights... Again I see a certain bias on the forum regarding lower weight fighters, some people will always rate the achievements of a little man higher than those of a bigger man. Think of the amount of times you hear arguments for a fighter over 160 being p4p? They get ignored or in the case of Calzaghe people argue about he's p4p worthy. Take a 120lb man though like Isreal Vaszquez and beating him makes for a fighter p4p top 4 in the world no question :-\
People should treat the lowest weights the same way as they treat heavyweights imo, that there isn't such a big talent pool in the divisions simply because there arn't a great many adult men in the world who weigh under 9 stone, actually much less probably than weigh over 16 stone. Yet rise to the top of the bantamweight division and you are one of the p4p stars no question.
Let's be real for a minute, the middleweight divisions are packed with fighters as thats the average weight of an adult male. There is more strength in depth there than there is at 122 lb or whatever so rising to the top of that division is at least as tough and as big as an achievment as rising to the top of the bantamweight class.
Yet people don't see it that way and routinely argue for the like of R Marquez to be higher than the Calzaghe's and the Hopkins' of this world.
(I'm looking forward to El Gamo reading this last bit, as I know he'll start frothing at the mouth with rage) :lickish:

I like your Margarito part although I disagree that he has not been tested. Hes fought quite a few good fighters. CC for today coming up.
But you're way way off about the lower fighters. It doesn't even make sense dude. Rafa Marquez,if he was a 160 pounder, would KTFO most of those guys. He has boxing skills,1 punch KO power etc etc. He always fights the best, multi weight champ and has fought at least 6 RING top 10 rated fighters. Regardless of what weight that is,its magnificent achievment, far far better than Hatton's,Calazghes etc. Just because they are bigger, does that mean they should be higher??
And there are far far more talented fighters at the lower weights.they are ram packed with talent. JC as the Kessler fight anddddddd???? Rafa Marquez has proven fighters like Ponce De Leon,Vazquez, the monster Caballaro etc
(I'm just using Rafa as an example)
At the end of the day,his accomplishments are far far superior to most in the P4P lists. His size is irrelevant.(dam that sounds wrong)

Re: Fighters you got sick of hearing about...
calzaghe for me
also people thinking that margarito can beat mayweather
Re: Fighters you got sick of hearing about...
Kessler on thos forum!!!!!
Re: Fighters you got sick of hearing about...
Mayweather. A great boxer , but a real snoozer on the thrill factor. had so many opportunities to be exciting but wouldn’t rise up.. always fighting in monster size rings on his heels.
way overrated in my opinion. Safety first fighters make my dick itch.
