Hatton proved he was no brave adventurer by deciding the 147 lb mountain was too steep to climb and looking back down at his old homeland saw a nice cosy land, full of fluffy white rabbits and gentle streams, peasants tilling the land and herding sheep and he thought to himself , 'I can rule over these folk much more easily than face the dragons and trolls living in these snowy mountains.' So he climbed back down and sought out the current chief, a former goat herder by the name of Urango and challenging him to a fight he hugged and squeezed the life out of Urango until he conceded defeat and gave the realm back to Lord Hatton.
Then Hatton spied the other lands and thinking who best to challenge next he saw a small, battled scarred old man by the name of Castillo, who had been in many wars and was weakened from many battles and decided that he was the man to fight..............
As funny as that is going with your new teddy atlas coming of old age and insanity theory..
I have to disagree...
There is life in the division yet.. But the top is not where the life is.. The best fighters in the division are scattered about fighting eachother instead of making theyr money and legacies the right way by beating these fools that are called champions and unifiying titles..
My money is on Dhop, forbes malignaggi and harris bieng the next title holders..
I think lazcano could have a last hurrah by gaining a last world title and i think forbes and hopkins have the rematch to unify perhaps..
and maybe forbes gets a just decision..
Then hatton or castillo will tear up the scene .. depending on who wins and whether hatton ends up making big money to show what he is made of against floyd or oscar if it ever happens..
And castillo isnt done just yet.. Believe me he'll pull off a great fight...
Imo it'll be like barrera.. He had some rough times when he lost twice to jones..
But when he fought morales in that first fight..He may not have won..But you knew he was back
It'll be the same for castillo ;)
The thing is of all the names you mentioned really none of them are world beaters are they? I agree that Steve Forbes has a great chance in this division, but really that just sums up how weak the division is when a former featherweight champ in the twilight of his career, after having been on a reality show is now one of the best talents in the division.
For me the only exciting thing is that Amir Khan will likely be here in a couple years time and then us Brits at least will have some great fights to look forward to, maybe a big title fight in years to come against American prospect Anthony Peterson.
Right now though we got a recognised champ who is only back fighting at 140 because he couldn't cut it at 147 lb and an old warrior who is only here chasing a last big payday because he could no longer make weight at 135 lb.
There's nobody to get excited about. It's a real shame Corrales died (obviously) because if he would have been able to get down to 140 he could have been a real factor, and certainly an exciting fighter to watch.
As of now though I wouldn't rule out even Jesse Feliciano getting a title shot soon....... :-X

Haaaaa cc. That is pretty much bang on the money.
Although I liked your vulture to lion analogy regarding the 140 div you posted a while back as well.
But true to the Teddy Atlas style, you didn't use the same analogy twice.
Good on ya for keeping the Teddying real

It is somewhat embarrasing that i never clicked onto the fact we could call you dildo :'( :-\ Ha!
Meh.. Im not sold that hatton cant do it at 147 yet.. Im willling to give him another go!
Re: 140 pound division... Bleak?
gota agree, i woldnt rule hatton out of the 147 mix just yet. if he's convincing against JLC then a few peoples opinions will have changed. Dont honstly think anyone can beat him out of that crop at 140, so i say he's got a max 3 fights left at the division then he's gona have to move up for competion.
I dont see hatton getting dominated by anyone at 147 with the right preperation (bar floyd) and i reckon he could do a number on cotto. The boys got every chance.
