Re: Arthur Abraham the forgotten man
Hey Wacko...really cool that we can agree on Sturm being a great boxer...CC back...
Sturm expressed in a talkshow that his goal for the future is to fight in the US again,
I can't say if his management agrees with that but he was really quite sincere about it...
And hell yeah Sturm vs Winky would be great...

When I 1st saw him I was well impressed with what I saw and figured he'd grow and develope but let me be honest here. I haven't seen any improvements from him. Fight after fight is the same thing from him from the Ikeke fight 'til now.
The biggest issue I have with him is he wait's tooooo long to fire off his shots. If he took the initiative and got off 1st I'm willing to say it and put it out there he'd be the best. But he doesn't instead he lets the opponents fire off 1st then he lets go.
I think it started off with the Taylor fight where I thought for sure Arthur would rip 'em up and he didn't hack it he won every round but I was just expecting him to do it in KO style... Then the Jantuah & Miranda fights both supported my comment on him standing around to long.
I guess we'll see what he's got this time around.
For the record he's still one of my fav. Middles. Amin is #1 for me.... 8)
Can only agree with you, :coolclick:
but lets see how he looks against Demers, maybe he changed some things...

Yep. I agree. I was thrilled that there was another Sturm groupie on the board...what's funny is that I think wer'e the only two. Heh heh heh.
Doesn't matter though...soon enough I have a feeling that many will see the error of their ways.

That shocks me. I really REALLY would be surprised if he came back to the U.S. for another fight...especially if there's a title on the line.

Gotdam right!
I was thinking about how just prior to Taylor Hopkins I...when Taylor was stalling during the negotiations over cash...Hopkins made an offer to Sturm's people & Taylor countered quickly knocking our guy outta the pot...not sure how that match would have come out...but honestly...I think that Sturm had all the tools & confidence at that time to either handle the Nard or defeat him.
That's how highly I rank & think of Sturm.
Re: Arthur Abraham the forgotten man
I've watched Sturm's last few fights live on stream and have been impressed in parts, and in others concerned. I hate watching people take guys lightly, like Felix did against Castillejo, in the end he was well beaten on that night, but he turned it around in the rematch. His style is pretty intresting, he's an agressive counter puncher, but is kinda one paced and is a bit hypnotic to watch, it's weird. Good though, and fully capable of some big wins at 160. He just needs to find the airport.
