Im not a fan of either boxer, but I will say this, yeah he was hitting with power, but he wasnt doing anything with stamina
Hed throw 2 shots and stand there
I was screaming at the tv,"What the F*** he's blowing this fight!!"
It just frustrated the hell out of me,because he was clearly landing the cleaner, heavier shots early on

so true.....so true!!! He knows he was beat...needs to lessen the financial impact this fight could have on his career....He's hoping people/promoters that saw this fight won't think less of him (impossible btw) what better way does he have than to lie?

Yep
Re: Those darn excuses!!!!!!
First off, this was a brillaint fight, I thoroughly enjoyed it and couldnt believe two guys above junior welterweight were actually jus standing there and trading bombs.
The excuses from Miranda arent good, but he didnt give that bad an account of himself from a "future paydays" point of view. Everyone just found out that no matter what (seeing as Pavlik turned out to be the worst case scenario for him) the guy stands there and continues to throw bombs, can withstand hellacious punishment for 6 rounds and make a great fight.
Pavlik however was immense, Miranda couldnt cope with him constantly coming forward like a wrecking ball and thats all their was to it. He got a new fan (among many others Im sure) in me on Saturday night.
I personally think Pavlik bombs Jermain Taylor out of the ring if they ever fight. Others opinions?
Re: Those darn excuses!!!!!!
Im so sick of people talking like Jermain Taylor is some kind of media darling, because he really isnt. This is a sport man. For money. Is Bernard Hopkins considered to be a bum? Is Winky Wright a bum? He also happens to be one of the blown up Junior Middle wieghts that every one critisizes for fighting. He happens to also be taking his next fight at lightheavy wieght. He did in the ring what no one else in the past decade has been able to do to those fighters. Bernard Hopkins got beat fair and square both times by Jermain Taylor. All of this pathetic whining about whether he won those fights or not is what is hurting boxing in the middle weight division. Jermain Taylor is an excellent fighter and all this questioning whether he is a legitimate champion is like the latest boxing hoopla. If you've seen the man fight you know he's nobodies punk. Kelly Pavlik is a good solid fighter, but Edison Miranda was overrated. His foot work is rudimentary at best. Jermain would've knocked him out just as easily but without taking as much leather. Not saying that Pavlik would'nt give Taylor a run for his money, but I don't think the victory over Miranda means as much as everybody thinks. He just had a big mouth and we weTare all happy to see it get shut up. I felt the same way when Taylor beat Hopkins, but Hopkins was the real deal.

Nope, having a champ who had so much promise against nobodies then produces iffy decisions and borin fights is hurting the middleweight division. I think that while we can disagree over the outcome of the fights (with the exception of the Spinks fight), noone can dispute that they were all Incredibly close and pretty boring to the masses. I personally believe Taylor lost both B-Hop I and the Winky fight. However the point is, if someone looks at the stats, the fight videos and everything about JT except press clippings. Theyll probably come to the conclusion, he has power, decent skills but has hit a plateau when it comes to challenging the very top tier and doesnt have the extra X factor to make him a worthy champion (along with the lack of clear wins against the best).
Re: Those darn excuses!!!!!!
They were close fights. Calling them iffy is just another way to discredit him. And personally, I think that alot of the punches that Winky Wright so called "caught" or "blocked" did the most damage to him. Jermain owned Winky Wright in that fight and thats why Wright ran in the last round. Even after head butting Taylor's eye shut he was still scared. And then said that he did'nt want a rematch because he felt that he had been robbed so bad. I watched that fight with Winky Wright fans and they thought that he had lost until they heard the decision. And as soon as they saw Wright ACTING like he thought he had been robbed they changed they're minds and fell right in line. In a close fight that ended in a draw which I believe was a gift to Winky Wright I believe the Winky Wright show after the fight was just a show of poor sportsmanship and cowardice. It turned out that he really didnt want the rematch because he doesnt believe that he can beat Taylor, no matter where the fight takes place. Thus we get all these people talking about Jermain Taylor as an illegit champ. Every one is so hyped on Pavlik beating Miranda. We will see how great Pavlik is once he fights a real top notch fighter like Taylor. Pavlik knows the difference between the two I bet.

Hey guy, Taylor did not own Winky. It was an extremely close fight that Taylor almost lost because of his crippling ability to lose focus in the middle of a fight. I think Taylor actually did win the fight by a point but barely. Pavlik is a very active, hard hitting middleweight and JT has never faced that. He's never faced a guy like Pavlik that can put punches together like that with that type of power. People point to Hopkins, but Hopkins wasn't a hard hitter at middleweight and he hardly ever put punches together like Pavlik. Winky put punches together but was a light hitting junior middleweight that went up to 160. Taylor still has stamina problems at 160 and someone that hits like Pavlik, that works like Pavlik, would really make JT dig deep and we'd see if he's the real deal or not. Let's be honest with ourselves, we all wanted to give JT a break after fighting B-Hop twice then followed Winky, but now the guy has faced two blown up welterweights in two consecutive fights and now is angling for a fight with a washed up RJJ or Duddy (who's garbage waiting to be exposed)? It's getting a little out of hand and he better take the Pavlik fight.
