People love heart. They love boxers that give it their all. That is why across the board, Gatti is the most beloved fighter in the USA (or was). I'm not counting the casual boxer who just wants to be cool and watch a dumbass heavyweight PPV.

Something's wrong with Taylor...seriously.
I truly believe that since he slapped Manny in his corner over Pat Burns...he's gone to pot. I can't put me finger on what it is...but, IWO, that has a lot to do with it.
The Floyd thing? I just can't remotely agree with you. Floyd is a boxer...plain & simple...if the KO comes...he brings it. He almost had Oscar fwocked on three occassions during their fight. It's not his nature to knockout his opponent...but as I said...if the KO comes...he brings it.
I love Floyd. I hold him in as high regard as I do Hopkins & believe you me...Hopkins is the end all & be all for me in boxing. No one in the game has a defense like Floyd & no one is as fast or as talented...really...NO ONE. Sure there are others that are good at their own thing...but Floyd is pretty much good at everything & when he get's off...he really let's it go. There is not another fighter on the planet that I enjoy as much as I do Floyd. Really. I mean...I always have & always will feel that way.

Agree with you on two things...the Jones Hopkins fight.
Everyone needs to watch that one with the sound off...otherwise you might hear Lamply & Merchant chokin on Jones chicken.
Seriously...that fight wasn't near the blow out that they made it to be. Hopkins pressed Jones like no one ever had & they wouldn't credit him for shit.
Also...I agree on the POV you have on Pavlik. He's good people & down to earth with much respect for the sport & his opponents.
I didn't realise people got the impression that that fight was a blow out, it was darn close, and hard to score, in fact one of the hardest fights to score i've ever seen. I din't realise people even thought that Roy blew him out.

I didn't mean to say that all heavywieght bouts are dumb. You all just know the kind of fans that just want the knockout.

But don't you feel as though if Floyd had really wanted to let it hang out like most guys do, he could have finished Oscar, Baldomir AND Judah off? I think he's more than capable, instead he just gives you a taste of what he can do. I mean, it's smart, but with his talent he could do so much more for my bwoy wacko who shed out a motherfwockin shatload to see him in the flesh.

No offense but Wacko knew what Mayweather was about long before he bought his ticket.

Re: Ok, I'm drunk, I'm from England, and I'm confused, so give it to me straight....
Floyd is boxing. Basically. A lot of other guys are fighting, or they're punching, or they're defense, or flash but Floyd is boxing. And there aren't a whole hell of a lot of people in that class with him. I'd say less then 20 all time that I know about.
He's just so good, he is the very definition of hit and don't get hit. If you want to see what the perfect boxer looks like, it might not be Floyd but he is definitely in the running. Now his record is record is no way comparable to some of the all time greats like Robinson or Ali like he thinks it is, but when he gets in the ring, I truly believe that if he isn't on their level, he is making his way to the elevator on the floor below.
As for guys I love to see. I love all different kinds really. I mean I guess the way to do this would be to look at my 4 favorite fighters. Wright/Lacy, then Sam Peter and Floyd Mayweather. That's pretty much every end of the spectrum there.
Also, I love Mexican fighters. Tough as nails, some may not have great skills but you'll rarely find a Mexican fighter short on heart, and ultimately heart is the most important thing in this game. Mexicans make for some great fighs, When you get a Mexicans with real talent like Barrera or Marquez, well you get fights like Barrera and Marquez. That's why I always always pay attention to a good Mexican prospect.
Puerto Ricans too although they tend to be more boxer - punchers and they aren't quite as abundant. Except Fres Oquendo, I think he's just from Florida

Floyd is usually ahead , I dont think Ive ever seen Floyd hurt. He got knocked down once in his career for Christs sake!! I didnt see that fight, he came back and won UD. I would like to see how he reacts in a fight if he may be down goin into later rounds, would he ramp it up and go for a ko? I think Mosely Vs. Mayweather would be the fight of the decade if it happens.

Joe Calzaghe is the definition of hit and don't be hit. Floyd is the defintion of don't hit, but get hit even less IMO.

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh...the ole' gay nuthugger joke thing.
You know...if I weren't such a respectable member of this forum...now'd be the time that I busted out the ole' faithful mother or sister joke on ya...but Wacko aint that guy. Being a moderator...there are certain rules that must be followed...I have to stand above the rest of the pack & be professional...handle things more maturely...
But seriously...I would think that it'd probably be easy to get Floyd to respect me...seeing as how your mother & sister did the next morning...oddly enough...it was you I had the problem with.
So now...in front of the entire forum...I shall sincerely apologize.
I am sorry, bikersk. Sorry that I forgot to save you some milk the next morning, son.
Daddy hates eating dry cereal too. I'll pick up a fresh gallon on my way home tonight. Be a nice bwoy & fluff daddy's pillow for him before I get there & tell mommy to wear that push up bra. Daddy loves that one. :lickish:
That being said...welcome to the forum...have the Obligatory Wacko Welcome Wagon :coolclick:
Heh heh heh. Seriously...welcome to the forum. Cheers. :P

Against Jesus Chavez? He broke his hand for what I believe was the first time in his career and he took a knee. Chavez was a tough test for Mayweather though.

I havent seen that one either completely, he won by tko tho, didnt Chavez knee give out on him? Taking a knee for a hurt hand isnt the same kinda situation, but it does show he can fight through injury, didnt he knock Chavez down a few times before Chavez didnt come out?
