roy's demise was due to his own success. he got used to being able to stand and hit fighters and not expect the punch to come back..and he got caught by the perfect punch by tarver and became gunshy after that...roy's reflexes are not prime but they're still good enough to beat anybody out there as long as he's not afraid to let his hands go...

Sorry JT but this makes me laugh Tyson in his early 20s when he faced Ruddock was considered way past it even though i didn't see much difference but when Jones moved all the way down in weight and it was so obvisious that he wasn't same fighter he is only considered *slighty past it* or just *slipped an inch* in his prime he would of embarrassed both Johnson and Tarver and you know it and actually your saying Jones wasn't well rounded or didn't have good technical skills like Mayweather well that proves my point how good he is he didn't have what most boxers have like good technical skills or ect yet he dominated Toney and Hopkins and is considered the best ever at 168 and 175 and would beat anyone at those weights in many peoples eyes.

you know i compared mike to roy in the way they both took their respective sports and where bounds ahead of it...also like bob beamon who took the long record from 27 feet to 29 feet..bypassing 28 feet altogether...mike took the 200m record from 19.72 to 19.32...and roy was this far ahead of the boxing game and to say that he wasn't exceptional is ridiculous...

roy jones as far as technical boxing goes was probably one of the worst...but that by definition is why he's "exceptional"... because he dominated for so long this makes him exceptional to all the fundamentals of boxing in every aspect...
