I reckon a middleweight Hagler could kill a sam peter anyday
They both had great chins but i edged with Hagler
This is not even a question. Hagler had the greatest chin in the history of the sport.
toney can take heavyweight punches. he has the better chin
I think James had the better defense, but Marvin has the better chin. The punch Hearns hit Marvin with in round one just seconds into the round should have knocked Marvin out cold, instead it broke Hearns hand. Both Hearns and Mugabi said the exact same thing.. Almost word for word. Marvin has a hard head.
Julio Cesar Chavez had a great chin also.Quote:

Also, Toney fought Peter at well over 200+ pounds himself, so all that extra fat.....er.... muscle undoubtedly helped him absorb Peter's punches as well. Finally, Peter was, and still is sort of a raw talent, who still needs to learn to make the most out of his punching power.
On the other hand......... Hearns was one of the most feared punchers in boxing history. The punches he landed on Hagler could've knocked out a small elephant, not to mention any fighter on the planet.
I voted for Hagler.
In Haglers era Duran may have been hands of stone but Hagler had a stone head. Honestly i think Marvin couldve taken heavyweight unches 2.
Why did Hearns buckle his knees in their fight then? There are fighters who have never been hurt ala Tua.Quote:

Haglers knees dipped a little bit at the start of the 1st round against Hearns then his head clears ands doesnt get hurt again as for Tua Lennox hurt him a few times and Rahman hurt him pretty bad right at the end of there rematch also for the record Felix Savon stopped him in amatuersQuote:
