Re: Tyson VS Clifford Etienne. Staged?
actually if anyone remebers..tyson was playing chicken...making as if he was going to back out of the fight and then changin his mind, then he went and had the tattoo placed on his face so etienne said he didn't want to be a part of the freak show. Then after a phone call with his wife he decided to go ahead and take the 1mill for a short night of work..So he fell and stayed down with the first punch that landed...
Re: Tyson VS Clifford Etienne. Staged?
No it wasn't fixed but Seldon vs Tyson was a fix.

Seldon was knocked down twice.
Many feel Seldon took took a dive {lost on purpose}. Replays show Seldon was pushed down by Tyson in what was credited as th first knockdown. Seconds later Bruce was knocked out.
None of the punches actually landed when i see it either it was a dive i don't understand why he did because Tyson would of won anyway but he still took a dive imo.
Re: Tyson VS Clifford Etienne. Staged?
All I know is that I paid money to see this fight and that there was a network-breakdown,
just when Mike knocked Etienne out...,when the picture returned the fight was over and
me furious...

With all due respect Ice, you shouldnt bandy such opinions about without substantiating them. I dont believe either the Ettiene nor the Seldon fight were fixed.
You can question a fighters heart, but to say a fight is fixed so forthrightly is too much....

Miles i just gave you an article didn't the boxing board even think it was i thought thats why they stripped Tyson of the title ?? theres nothing wrong with thinking that because we all know soemtimes there are some dirty dealings in boxing but the thing that puzzles me is that Seldon would of lost anyway so why take a dive imo it was.

Sure i'll try and find it.
Re: Tyson VS Clifford Etienne. Staged?
Taking a dive suggest that a fight was fixed. He definitely did not give all he could give but can you blame him? Mike Tyson was the baddest man on the planet. He was the most feared in all of sports. Seldon was scared, he didn't want to be in the ring.
Augustus versus Vester is something that would be considered a dive. Someone being scared and looking for a way out isn't.
Re: Tyson VS Clifford Etienne. Staged?
As i said early it was'nt a fix he could of fought Tyson but Seldon just shit himself and as soon as he found an opportunity he was out of their.

Taking a dive is not acceptable but is not neccessarily meaning that a fight is fixed. It can be more a question of another fighters heart simply flaking out. Who is to say if money exchanged hands regarding prior agreement to a dive? Who is to say if Tyson would have been complicent in such an act? There is no open fact and only speculation which is why I think its too much to say a fight is fixed per se....
We can have an opinion and speculate but unless we have hard facts then it shouldnt be spoken of as fact. It is merely conjecture...
