Gene Tunney vs Rocky Marciano

Now THIS would be a difficult fight for Rocky. Could go either way but I think it goes the distance.

i think the rock would win by ko, he could wear down any fighter of that time, he hit hard and could eat a hard punch, he was always pressing many people dont rate rocky that highly but the man could fight and had maybe the best stamina in boxing

I would go with The Rock on this one.
A great pressure fighter with outstanding timing and capable off setting up the traps to catch a slick boxer like Tunney

yea but Tunney was alot faster then the people that Rocky faced.

I'm not sure if he was faster than even an old Ezzard Charles, but Tunney has to win this. He beat Dempsey twice who I think is better than Marciano.

I don'tnow if a old Charles was faster then Tunney but the young one sure was.

Also depends what wait they were at as well weren't they both light heavyweight champions.

Dempsey was a good power puncher and a great fighter but he's no Rocky Marciano

Would of been a fight if Maciano/ Charles II proportions.

Tunney would of boxed his head off. Im not sure how durable he was though. His fight with Dempsey was pretty one sided bar the knockdown. Marciano would hit harder, take more and land more.

Actually im now thnking Marciano would drop him a few times.... Maybe/ probably he could stop him?

Who did Marciano fight who wasn't 38? Marciano was/is the most overrated heavyweight of all time, and almost everyone beats him prime vs. prime.

Tunneys chin is good and forgetting that long count because that was really the only round Dempsey won both times he boxed Dempseys head off Tunney is underrated he was one of the first boxers who had fast feet and could move well around the ring and he only had 1 loss in his whole career against Harry Greb who is top 10 of all time in some peoples list i reckon he has the speed and chin to survive Marciano in a 12 round bout.

Good point cold and not to mention tunney beat Greb 3 times i believe as well.
