Re: What 's next for Hatton assuming....
witter or malanagi are the only real 2 credable names left at 140 for him to fight, unless judah drops down and whoops his ass...
Doubt he will clean the devision up... takes freaking years now with 4 titles and the mandatorys u gotta fight inbetween
Re: What 's next for Hatton assuming....
Cotto is the best fight for Hatton. It is a great fight between two warriors who come to fight. Maybe the time is not ripe for the fight. The fight should be made.

no way is cotto the best fight for hatton... he is way to big and strong for hatton... he would beat him so bad ricky would have no choice but to retire.

I don't think so. Remember when Edwin Rosario fought Chavez and everyone said Chavez was too small for the punching power of Rosario. The style of Hatton could neutralize the punching power of Cotto and Hatton I think would win a decision.

I think you are right, if Mayweather was to return and the offer was unbelievable, say $20mil
then i think he would go to the UK and fight the Fatboy! The challenge would be to do something not even Tszyu could do and beat Hatton on his hiome turf. Belts won't mean much here, Mayweather would need the challenge to himself before considering though.
Other than that, his promoters need to get in there and get Cotto!
Re: What 's next for Hatton assuming....
The talk from Hatton of the last 6 months or so has been very pro 147, he once said something like, "From here on out, if I do get beat it'll be because I faught the very best of my era."
That tells me he's going after the very vest names out there, I know this is boxing and sometimes it doesn't work out like that but it sounds like ricky isn't too afraid of being beaten for the top box office i.e Mosley, ODLH, Cotto + Floyd and is going after them full tilt, and the fact he's fighting Castillo is one step towards that, 19,000 in the Thomas and Mack Centre and HBO + PPV in other countries is big time.

It's good that he thinks that way, he has done remarkably well in his career so far, time to take a few risks and that means big names only. There is no point in fighting Witter even in the UK, it's an easy win for him and yes the money would be good but really outside the UK nobody cares. It's 147 or bust for RH and that means big fights in the next 12months for him, even if he loses to someone he could get rematches etc. Next week is so important for him!
Re: What 's next for Hatton assuming....
Too true about Witter mate, Hatton wouldn't want that prick making a penny off of his name the way Junior has treated him over the last 6/7 years.
Re: What 's next for Hatton assuming....
Hatton needs to go back up to welterweight, regardless of the fact that he may be better off at 140. The fact of the matter is he won a belt there, and against a very respectable true welterweight. He absolutely cannot sit back and watch Mosley, Margarito, Williams, and Cotto all go at it and be on the outside looking in ALA Aaron Pryor watching Leonard, Duran, Hearns, and Hagler make millions and create legacies while your left to ponder what could have been.

Re: What 's next for Hatton assuming....
If Hatton beats Castillo, which I don't think he does. I like Castillo by KO. But if he were to win, I'd like to see him fight Paulie. Paulie has great speed and I think the two styles would make a very interesting fight.
Re: What 's next for Hatton assuming....
i can tell alot of u guys dont rate hatton on here but seriously tho i dont no how any one can knock the lad hes undefeated he won every boxin award under the son in 2005. and when he fought tyszu, tyszu was number two in the pound 4 pound rankings regardless of what people might say about him bein past his best no one gave ricky a prayer before that fight not even his own british country men even alot of his fans. but he made one of the all time greats at 140 quit on his stool. look i no he aint been up to par since then but i will garantee he will silence alot of u haters after he stops castillo. even then the people who think castillo will win will turn round and say well he was past his best anyway. also he is a good decent lad who is never cocky nor big headed in his sucess. i just dont get all the hatred. and i do believe that after castillo that he needs to move up 2 147 to get those big fights to cement his legacy that he so desperately craves. i no tho like every one on here nos that when he moved up a weight at 6 weeks notice to fight collazo that he stuggled even tho i thought the outcome was right. i believe that with maybe 1 maybe 2 tune up fights at 147 he could be as effective as he is in the 140 division. i just ask to give the guy a break and i no he will shine against castillo trust me. peace

I don't hate him, he seems a really personable young chap to be honest. It's just his fighting style bores me, his performances bore me, and the excuses that both he and all of his fans routinely come up with to defend his poor performances bore me.
Plus the fact he's trying to hype a 'super' fight with a lame warhorse in boxings weakest division also bores me.
Hatton vs Castillo = :cwm33:
