And among the above reasons there is always the arguement that when you take away what is really just a bunch of names on paper..
then what youn have is one of the most entertaining fighters in history

Frankly i just cant think of an arguement for him not bieng considered great..
The word great doesnt even do him justice..Hes a legend

He was defenatly one of the most entertaining fighters I ever seen in a ring. I think when we talk about being great we shouldn't try to dicect a fighter so much and try too hard to find holes. Just think to yourself, how would Tito have done in any era. And the answer is he would probably be top 3 every time. Give me the top 10 WW of all time and he probably have a good shot at beating each one of them at least 1 out of 3 times.
That to me equals being a great.

What does really great mean? Depends how you rank your fighters. In depends a lot on level of competition in your time.
In terms of how I think he would fare against other fighters who have fought at welterweight since the 70's, I'd say he has a decent chance to crack top 10.

Just because he struggled with a style doesn't make him less great just look at the Tito's resume that says it all he was beaten by two greats of our era Winky and Hopkins and how can you say Hitman wasn't great either he won Welterweight world championship and championships all the way up to Cruiserweight.
Great point.... but when Hitman lost, he gave it his ALL and more. When Tito lost, he was stuck in first or second gear.
