I can't see the point in this at all, DLH V Tito is a waste of time.
DLH won the first fight easily and doesn't have to prove a thing on that score,
Tito would be beaten up by Cotto at this stage and Mayweather would play with him, why
embarrass yourself and comeback to be ridiculed.

This Tito-DLH argument could rage on from here to eternity. Both sides have valid points. I, of course, think Tito would win a rematch at 154 (or higher) convincingly. DLH fans think Oscar would win. Only an actual fight would settle that score. But, that being said.....

Tito doesn't NEED a De La Hoya fight. He already got the "W". From non-Puerto Rican judges, and in Oscar's backyard. So whether you think it was a good decision or a bad decision, Tito walked away with the win, and it is Oscar that seeks redemption, not Tito. Tito pressed the action throughout the fight, especially in the later rounds, when Oscar chose to play "Olympic sprinter" and ran all over the ring. Would he have won the fight had he fought all 12 rounds? Maybe.... maybe not. Tito had the edge in stamina, and he's obviously always had KO power well into the end of fights.

And while I'm at it, I don't get where people question Tito's chin. His only KO loss came at the hands of Hopkins, and that was after a thorough beating through 11 rounds. Hopkins was always the naturally bigger man, a natural middleweight, one of the best in history. There is no shame in a natural welterweight going up in weight and losing to a future HOF'er at middleweight. De La Hoya fared a lot worse.

I hope he doesn't come back with Don King. That's a bad move!!

Isn't boxing about the best fighting the best and not about whether Oscar can get a win in a fight which he could have won in 1999 when both were good? This cannot be about what Oscar wants and people paying for it. Tito is not a prime fighter now and neither is Oscar. They should have to prove more and if Oscar does beat Tito it should not be as though Oscar beat a great fighter now. Tito is not the same fighter.

no he can't cause that's the problem, he goes in with one plan, if it doesn't work (DLH,Wright, and Hopkins) he doesn't change it at all and get beat horribly throughout the fight, i don't think he'll ever be as dominant as he once was, but i do believe that with a new trainer he could again be a champion, IMO he stands a good chance against, Pavlik, Miranda, Sturm, and Taylor (he doesn't listen at all to Steward and once the fight becomes a brawl he doesn't use his jab at all and that gives Tito chances to connect)

He doesnt need a new trainer.. And if hes sharp he beats the majority with the style he has had the entire time.. He just needs to train, be sharp and fight at the right weights

For once BHB I disagree with you. Tito has needed a new trainer for a long time. Papa Trinidad just has nothing more to teach Tito and a guy who tells him he is winning in a fight he is clearly loosing is not a good thing. It would be great if he could get a Freddy Roach or Manny, someone who could give him a good game plan throughout the fight. You just can't go to a fight at this level without a good plan.

I don't like that Tito is talking about fighting RJJ. And it has nothing to do with wether or not he could win, the point is that this fight is pointless. Yes I know Tito has always wanted to fight Jones but he is missing out on the big picture.

Tito has a great chance of taking over the Middleweight division at this time. I have no doubt in my mind that he could beat every Middleweight right now. Taylor would be a real test but he is still a little green and Tito could put that chin to the test if Taylor can't stay away from those bombs. He is not the most defensive fighter in there.

He would dominate most other MW with the exception of Pavlik which would be a great action packed fight.

And please guys don't come here and say that DLH could still beat Tito. The only way he could do it if he fought the same fight he did the first time for the full 12 rounds. 1) He can't do that again at this stage in his career 2) When was the last time Oscar fought the full 12 rounds? 3) Oscar is not Winky and he is not Hopkins, these are totally different styles.

We'll just have to wait and see if Tito is in shape for a elite class fight.

Funnily enough..The post in which you disagree with me i do pretty much agree with.. Lol

I suppose its not that he wouldnt benefit from a new training regime..

But hes an old dog as far os boxing goes now.. And i think once he gets into a fightt hes just gona go back to what brought him to the big time..

Theres really very few trainers out there good enough to make a distinct difference to trinidad that actually speak spanish etc.. But also tito would not leave his father and i believe the reward would not be worth the trouble..
