I've never heard of him or seen him fight but if he has a decent chin and can box I'd fancy him to dismantle Katsidis.
To me he's heading for a beating.
Re: King Katsidis ready for Vegas
Yes you've already said that a number of times now. Sounds as though you want him to get a beating for some reason. I think Rocky is a great prospect and will hopefully do well. Haven't had a chance to see too much of him though so it will be good to see how he goes in his next fight, and maybe then can form an opinion of him.

Amonsot has glass chin. I've seen him against Butar-butar, the Indonisean dude who quit against Jimrex Jaca.

Yes you are correct I don't really rate him. As such I personally don't care whether he wins or loses. He's entertaining to watch but hardly a practitioner of the sweet science and I'll take a skilled boxer over an unskilled brawler any day.
Sorry if I've been harping on but as the seeming lone dissenter I'm keeping the thread going if nothing else.
And besides if he goes on to kick Juan Diaz's ass you'll all be glad you've got someone on here that you can do a big :fyou: to and tell me how you told me he was the best.
Without the voice of dispute all forum threads would be pointless so don't express your disaproval for me having a different point of view to yourself ;)
Re: King Katsidis ready for Vegas
Yeah that Butar-Butar guy has his number, I noticed he came in overweight in the second fight and still got KTFO in the first. I just think the southpaw aspect is the main obstacle. This looks like a good warm-up southpaw.

Its not a problem and i'd never give you the finger for saying one guy will win over another - it's just opinion and besides i dont know much about Katsidis anyway. I think he sounds like a good prospect from what i've heard and wouldn't say he's the best if he wins this next fight and even beats Diaz. I hope he wins of course b/c i'm from Oz so it would be nice for us here. I wouldn't know if he's a brawler or a boxer or both. I look forward to finding out though. CC from me though b/c i like it when someone posts anm informed opinion which seemingly is against the hype that can be present at times. So there was no disaproval of your opinion. :)

Well I'm glad we can agree to disagree. I guess it's unoriginality that turns me off him. Coming in to a Russell Crowe voiceover and the theme from Gladiator just makes me want to :puke:
Against Earl he was just so wide open and any decent solid boxer with ringcraft would have slaughtered him that night.
But he is a talking point. It will be interesting to see how he does when he steps up. Few of us expected Edwin Valero to do a number on Mosquera beforehand figuring his reckless style, inexperience and never having gone beyond the second round would prove his undoing but he aced the test and has knocked out both his subsequent opponents also.
Looks like Valero is the real deal. Katsidis may yet prove to be of the same mould but I really have my doubts.
Still he's an exciting prospect and a talking point nonetheless.
cc returned :)

Yeah he seems to generate some talk and excitement. Someone -( was it you?) mentioned that Earl knocked him down? So I guess he must have an open attacking style. He may have learned from that though.
However i was not aware of the ring entrace with the Russel Crowe thing. O dear that's a bit tragic - maybe he does need to have some sense knocked into him ;).
Re: King Katsidis ready for Vegas
I hope Kats goes well in his career. He is an old style brawler and really great to watch. I have a feeling a great defensive boxer would give him fits tho. He seems keen to take on whoever he can which is good also. Always turns up fit as can be and has a high kop ratio.

Actually I just checked my copy of the fight, it wasn't Gladiator it was a Brad Pitt voiceover and he came in as Achilles with the theme from Troy. :puke:

Cheers Big Jack it is indeed a great little forum here. 50 years is a long time to be a fight fan, that must make you almost as old as Scrap.
Always impresses me when someone who went to school before paper was invented and whose mathematics skill was learned on the abacus manages to somehow figure out how to operate a computer :P
Have a :coolclick: and I hope you continue to enjoy your time on the boards. :)

Re: King Katsidis ready for Vegas
Kats is exciting as hell and looks like he has sledgehammers for fists and if you look at his record closly he has fought some good fighters, i think he is going on nicely and will probably win a version of the world title.
