Ok I'll have a stab. I decided to do an entirely new p4p and not include any fighters on the current p4p list save for Cotto who I think will still be around in 5 years. I've also tried to give reasons as best I can. Hopefully it will keep the debate going and encourage others to post their picks as I too think this is an enjoyable topic. :coolclick: to the original poster by the way :)

Bilbo's Future Top 10

1. Chad Dawson, looks to be a superb natural talent and is the most proven of all 'prospects' out there hence my number 1 pick. Tremendous ability and is set to be the dominant force at 175 lbs. Potential showdowns with Tarver, Hopkins, Woods would massively boost his stock and he's young enough and big enough to move up to cruiser at some point.

2. Andre Ward. Olympic gold medalist, could rule the super middleweight division in a few years time and let's face it he's American and that matters a lot when P4P rankings are compiled.

3. Lamont Peterson, a very slick 140 lb, good to watch, techincally excellent although not a puncher. Still he has the skills to do well.

4. Miguel Cotto. I think he will lose fights, but he's so strong he can also beat anybody. In 5 years time he will probably have lost to Mayweather and maybe Margarito or Mosely but he will have had other big wins and will be a genuine p4p star.

5. Amir Khan. Has tremendous potential, blazing fast and improving all the time. I think he could still even be unbeaten in 5 years time but it's virtually impossible for a European to make the top 5 p4p so he won't be any higher no matter how good he is.

6. Juan Diaz, great all action fighter. Overwhelms guys although not a great deal of power. He should be in his prime in 5 years and could well dominate the lightweight and junior welter divisions. Fights with Khan and either Peterson brother could be huge.

7. Odlanier Solis. I've only just become aware of this Olympic Gold medallist and Amatuer World Champion but after watching his 4 pro fights plus his dismantling of David Haye he looks like what we have been waiting for, a heavyweight with real quality. If you've seen the fight with Haye you'll know he can definitely take a punch as well. My tip to dominate the heavies in 5 years.

8. Bernard Dunne. I really like this little Irish fighter. Great work ethic and good skills plus massive Irish support. He'll become the next Barry McGuigan, and suprisingly I mean that in a good way!

9. Edwin Valero. He'll probably always struggle to get fights in America but as long as he keeps winning he should dominate the featherweight division once Barrera, Marquez and Pacquio have retired.

10. Christian Mijares. Ok so he looks like the geeky kid from Road Trip but he proved against Arce that he can fight. He'll never be as big a draw as somebody like Arce, Ponce De Leon or Darchinyan but as long as those type of fighters are getting love from HBO he can make a name for himself by giving them all a boxing lesson.

Yeah i know. There is so much one upmanship on this forum. I had 17 replies to this post, not one other person did a list but had about 13 criticisms.

Don't feel too bad it's nothing personal and besides it seems the main posters have so far not posted in this thread. I expect CutMeMick and El Gamo may contribute their own lists, (although Gamo's could just as well be labelled best Mexican/Phillipino 10 stone or less Top 10 but that's beside the point)

And I'm sure Miles will give you a coolclick for your efforts when he logs on :P

I gave you credit for your list. Even admitted I stink when it comes to making them. But since you have had more detractors then people who have given at least an honest effort befor shooting your list down I will try.

I just want to state this first. They are in no particular order and I did mention I am not good at P4P list current or future.

1.Paul Malinaggi- I think he will just keep getting better with time

2. Mikkel Kessler-Even if he loses to Calzaghe he will continue to improve

3. Kelly Pavlik- Not a fan but he showed in the Miranda bout he can box as well as fight

4. John Duddy- They are bringing him along at the perfect pace. He is getting better all the time. Assuming He has a decent chin he has a big future ahead of him

5. Miguel Cotto- He gets better and better

6. Ricky Hatton-He will only be 32 or 33 and still have plenty left in him assuming he does not get into too many upcoming wars

7. Juan Diaz- The baby bull has potential as long as he does not get starched by a top guy before then and have his confidence ruined. He is on top of the lightweight division right now but he is still young

8 Manny Pacquiao- He is still just 28 as like Hatton assuming he does not get played out in any wars

9. Nonito Doniare- I do not think the Darchinyan win was a fluke. Even if he loses a re-match this kid has a big future ahead of him

10-Joshua Clottey-The tweo fights he lost were just bad luck. Broken hand and a DQ. If he went ot 154 he would dominate with ease

I've not heard of Banal VD what weight is he and what kind of fighter? Dirrell is definitely a talent and his last fight proved he could succeed Floyd as the premier runner out there at least :P

I've not seen Parra or Kameda fight yet and know nothing about them.

I've heard of Lopez but not seen him yet. Not a fan of Williams at all, hoping Margarito smokes him.

I like Paulie he's an exciting fighter but I think his lack of power will stop him from becoming great. Kessler could be p4p then but I've got a feeling his time will have come and gone in 5 years, same for Clottey and Pavlik.

Duddy is an exciting fighter but I'd be suprised if he even won a world title let alone got into the P4P list.

You are right. If we looked back on this in five years i bet no one is even close. Look at P4P five years ago. the names where Hopkins, Jones, Mosely, Trinidad Tszyu Morales etc. None of them are near the top now.

Altho Bhop could be if he wins against Winky..
