If PBF don't want to fight you look for someone else. If all the other champs are busy than fight Clottey who has gotten some good publicity lately. Get your name on that newspapper. Get your face on that TV screen and call these guys out. Time is running out fast Shane. Hatton is going to get that fight that you wanted and all he did was do a little trash talking.
Very well put :appl: and you call yourself a rookie... :)

I don't think Cotto will ever present the same problems to Floyd that Mosley's speed does.
PBF toughest fight was against JLC the first time, possibly one of his slowest opponents(Judah,Oscar,Corrales were all faster, handspeed wise). There are other ways of beating speed without having to match it.

Re: Despite All the Action, Shane Mosley is Outside Looking In
Mick, Gamo CC back and thanks. Just telling it how it is. I'm a huge fan of Mosley but have been frustrated lately. Maybe it's not all his fault but I think he needs to show that he wants it a bit more. Maybe he could fight Cintron if he wins and set up a unification with the winner of Margo/Williams/Cotto. But hey, maybe he's had enough and that wife of his (who is starting to remind me of Yoko Ono for some reason) is putting on the pressure for him to retire.

Rookie Fan, with all due respect and without much further to do, I see you have the wrong view on this one... Cintron was supposed to be Shane's opponent in his comeback fight to 147 pounds but Kermit took on Suarez for the IBF Title and Shane opted for Collazo and a WBC nº1 contendership, you see, Shane wants the WBC Champ Mayweather. If you are a fan like I am ( have every single Shane fight in DVD) and I believe you are, please don't listen to the crap and the faulse applause - we are not against Jin, Jack or any other Mosley or any GBP chairman like Oscar, we are aiming at Jose Suleiman and Floyd Mayweather - now, Mick, Gamo, let me hear it, LOL
Re: Despite All the Action, Shane Mosley is Outside Looking In
Shane seems happy to fight twice a year now ??? not good for us in the twilight of his career.

Well the hole thing about the wife was just a joke and I did say that it might not be his fault. Bottom line the real reason that Mosley has not gotten the big fights yet is that he's just not very marketable. Even with his aggressive fun to watch style and great combination of speed and power. Even with most of his fights being pure eye candy for all who love boxing. He's just not marketing himself well. PBF said it well when he stated that one fight with DLH sold more than both fights that Mosley had combined. And why is this? He's just too nice and too shy for a fighter and he's just not selling himself like he should. That is nobody's fault but his and GBP.
Fighters are calling out Hatton, Cotto, Maywether and de la Hoya (Even with all the losses). Hell, fighters have been calling out for Trinidad for goodness sake. Trinidad who has been retired for over 2 years and came out of 2 very one sided losses. Yet I can't even remember the last time somebody has called out Mosley. Do you guys see what I'm getting at?
Re: Despite All the Action, Shane Mosley is Outside Looking In
Shane can wait around silently making the odd comment in an interview about wanting Floyd or he can stay active and fight. It's up to him but he's wasting time and oppertunity to make $$$> Why not take a keep busy fight(a top contender)@, then fight the winner of the WW tournament and therefore make himself a draw for Floyd to fight? That would be the smart thing to do.
Re: Despite All the Action, Shane Mosley is Outside Looking In
Yes make it so he can't not fight him I agree.

Yeah, I see that these guys have you also, Rookie Fan... Baby, Shane doesn't need to call anybody ( and please read Ring Magazine September 2007 - All Star Report Cards to get to know about Mosley's and other's marketabilities), this is very simple, Floyd can pitty pat Hatton to death but as soon as early 2008 Jose Suleiman will be knocking on his door for a mandatory WBC defense and Floyd has only two scape doors, another handpicked opponent like Casamayor or back into retirement and all time greatness oblivion, either way it's the WBC stripping him of the welter title - so, Shane fans, don't rush him also into problems, remember it was Goosen's words and Floyd's that Jin was the boss in ther household, running the show or whateva ( Ring Mag November 2006 - the Sweet Life SS back on Top) - typical Floyd Mayweather's schizo/pussy gossip tryin to find a scape goat for not fighting Shane in his own wife, LOL

Gamo, you should know better I respect ya and everybody, but keep himself busy and make himself a draw for Floyd like Mayweather's a hot commodity? Get outa here! Shane can fight whoever he wants to, Floyd has nothing to do with it, the only thing binding them is that if Floyd doesn't fight him, it's good-bye WBC 147 pounds title and back again to emeritus status for "Philty Rich" Floyd. Even Oscar is getting in his way of fighting Hatton so that you can forget about intrigues putting Shane against Oscar or his own wife, my best regards to you Gamo and to Mick, Lol

Ok so maybe your right and Mosley's got this plan and everything. Meanwhile the clock is ticking, he is no longer considered the top welterweigh (even though he should be), other fighters are making big noise and big money and by the time PBF is done with Hatton there will be other guys which will be bigger money with slightly less risk (Cotto/Margarito) who will get Maywether's attention way before Mosley does. And what will he get for his patience....maybe another sparring sesion with DLH if he decides to do a rematch with Tito LOL. Ok ok, that wa a low blow....

Good posting, but I have to disagree with the last bit... Hatton isn't going to get the fight instead of Mosley because he did some trash talking, in fact I think that's way off. Hatton's going to get the fight because he can sell thousands upon thousands of tickets and generate a great deal of PPV buys. Mosley, for whatever reason, has never been a big draw... Now add to that the fact that Mosley is a FAR greater threat to Floyd at 147(imo at least), and it's a pretty clear cut decision for Mayweather to make.. Mosley would be better served in being more vocal, he should be calling Floyd out, but it still wouldn't make a difference because he isn't speaking to nearly the audience that Hatton is, despite being a better fighter , and undoubtedly a tougher matchup for PBf. Mosleys last fight against Collazo packed a fairly modest crowd and I doubt it sold many PPV's, and this was after ppl had a chance to see what Collazo brought, unlike when Hatton fought him and surely sold a great deal more tickets anyways.
Re: Despite All the Action, Shane Mosley is Outside Looking In
One reason why Mosley is quiet is that Cotto's team is looking for him in case Margarito losses his fight with Williams. May be after Margarito's fight we will start hearing from him again.
Cotto - Mosley would be a great fight!!!! Personally, I prefer this one over Cotto - Margarito.
