I do because peter is nigerian. I don't completely understand the terms of the deal but after this king uses my $2,000 on a business deal, i partially own that country or something like that. Seems like a fair trade to me ;D
Re: Peter vs Maskaev Might Not Happen!
If Maskaev ducks Peter he should be stripped of his title!

Absolutely 1000% Agreed

wow, that would be a dream come true.
I cant believe how scared team maskaev is of Peter. They are running out of excuses not to fight him already.

Hey let's be honest here...Maskaev is luck to be champion....If Vitaly was never injured the title would not have been up for grabs and most likely still on his waist...Wlad would have had one of the others and by now they would have claimed all 4 of the belts between them....Oleg is riding this for as long as he can.....
IMO Oleg is a good HW...Good power and decent Boxing skills but that chin has failed him too many times plus with age creeping up on him this is his last hurah so to speak
Re: Peter vs Maskaev Might Not Happen!
I think saying Peter has done little to impress is interesting, because you could say the same about almost every heavy out there. Vitali Klitschko has a hard punch, but he's so overrated. Champion Emeritus my arse. He 'retired' injured. Either his injury wasn't as bad as he made out, or he's still got problems that will affect him in the long haul. Peter is hungry and wants it more, and for me it's inevitable he'll be a world champion.
Maybe Maskaev is wanting to bypass them both to face Oliver McCall, who also has a guarenteed shot at this belt. For what it's worth, I think McCall would beat Maskaev as well, so he's on borrowed time no matter what option he chooses.

Where are you getting this stuff "Injury wasnt as bad, or he still has an injury" speculation or fact?
Re: Peter vs Maskaev Might Not Happen!
Oleg sometimes fights great and sometimes he gets sparked and sometimes he fights great and still gets sparked as he did vs Corey Sanders.
I think this fight should go ahead and happen so that Vitali can get on with whipping the winner and taking the belt back

HE used his left jab excellently and even dropped Toney with it. Peter is tough and can take a blow. He looked faster and fitter against Toney. He dropped today's best heavyweight (WLAD) three times.
Surely Peter's proven power, young age (23), his potenial, the tendency to improve rapidly which he has displayed andthe pschological edge of knowing he has dropped the division's number one 3 times wil add up and allow Peter to seize the top spoy at 200+ lbs. I hope Peter-Maskeav does happen because Oleg will be the biggest scalp on 'The Nigerian Nightmare's' resume and will propel him closer to the top of the division.
CC. Thats the way I see it too.

Just wondering what your definition of overated is as it relates to Vitali? Why because he only has 34 knockouts in 35 wins? His two fights that were loses ocured only because of injury in both cases he was ahead on the cards over Byrd and Lewis. He has knocked out guys that had never been stopped before. He is technically sound and has a great chin.
Re: Peter vs Maskaev Might Not Happen!
If Oleg doesn't fight a mandatory challenger for his title, would that mean that he would then become stripped of his belt?

Actually I think in reality it means he becomes the Super Emetrius Interim Vacated Champ.
and then Sinan Samil Sam and John Ruiz fight an eliminator to see who gets to fight Vitali for
winner of that faces Sam Peter in his third consecutive title Eliminator which will be a win
but not a convincing win so there will be a rematch for another title eliminator.

Maybe because the WBC named the guy Champion Emiritus after he made one defence of his title and retired. At the mo, he's treated like the second coming of Tyson, and while he's a great fighter, he's not as good as his younger bro IMO.

He didn't have much choice in retiring due to an injury. The WBC rules state it clear as day, he wasn't given anything.
