Rick wants a shot at the best guy out there and I applaud him for that. I give him a fair chance in the fight as we have seen before how fired up he gets for big fights (like he is posessed), thats why I want to see it personally. Who wouldn't wanna see it :-\
I would also give Floyd much more credit for fighting at 140 and still beating him, almost as much as moving to 154 to beat DLH.

I would want to see it, but it's not at the top of my list by any means.. Because there are about 5 other welterweights who would give Floyd a better fight... And realistically, Hattons only chance to make it mildly competitive would be to make it extremely ugly and hold on any chance he gets.

I'd love it if Floyd decided to try clear out the welterweight division. I dont see it though but it would make for some greater fights I agree. A hatton fight at 140 would get me pretty damn exited though.

Yea, I can't say it wouldn't get me excited either... But if Im dead honest, it only excites me because I feel Floyd would embaress Hatton and it would be fun to watch. Just like it only excites many UK fans because Hatton is British. From a neutral boxing fans standpoint, would fights against Cotto, Mosley, Williams, Clottey, Cintron not be more reason to get excited?? I think so..

So you think Hatton should fight lower level guys instead of fighting the best???
Damn, wiz, don't you guys know that Floyd Mayweather is strong enough to take Ricky's best attacks and still pound him from all conceivable angles? So Ricky Hatton fans want him to commit suicide at this stage??? The guy has good fights left in him, beating Malignaggi or Witter pretty good and make a sound statement and farewell to the light-welters and then take a fight at 147 pounds where he has 50/50 chances of winning such as hardcore fight with Miguel Cotto... I strongly believe Ricky can come out on top there but y'all are so pissed with Floyd's provocation that you are murdering your idols and heroes... Ricky made an excellent move stating that if Floyd wants a pice of his azz, come and get it at 140 pounds, there he would be weaker and Ricky can press him until he asphyxiates... At 147 pounds and in November, you are putting Ricky's career in jeopardy, brother, all the best
I think Floyd would win, but I think your going a bit overboard with this career suicide deal. Floyd isn't really destroying people's careers after he's done with them.

Now there's so many great fights at Welter, one being Hatton vs PBF, not Hatton vs old man Oscar
Oscar beat Mosley the second time, He beat Mayorga which was important enough, and he also gave Bernard a pretty good fight before size overcame him.

It was somewhat contreversial, but Oscar did lose that one to Mosely. My point though, right now Floyd is the best fight out there for Ricky. I really don't get too excited about Oscar fighting Hattonn.

I don't think Oscar could make 147 anyways.. But for you to call it Hatton vs old man Oscar is underselling it a bit, since DLH would clearly be the favourite if it were to happen... Are you trying to say your so sold that Hatton would win, and that's why it doesn't excite you?? Weird, I think it would be a much more competitive fight that Hatton would have some chance of winning compared to if he fought Mayweather.. Especially considering Oscar probably couldn't make welter without draining himself badly. But Id still favour DLH by a wide margin.

Actually it's been said that Oscar is going to campaign at 147 in his next fight and many think it will be against Oscar. I just think of the 2 Ricky should fight Floyd, I mean Floyd did win the fight against Oscar, and Floyd is the WW champion.

Man, you just gat to see, Ricky is an energy fighter in the first place, he comes out with good footwork feinting fast and actually can beat Floyd to the punch, getting that left unorthodox volley punch first with some leverage ( very much different to De La Hoya) but then what? He finishes the punch combination with a couple of meaty solid body punches and closes the distance, immobilizes the action and clinches so that the ref breaks them apart and Ricky goes at him again... One ref that won't let Ricky grab or hold so much and he runs out of ideas, can't jab, can't counter, he is into a massacre ( or suicidal mission), Floyd pushes him easy, hold him off with the left elbow and unleashes super sharp, painful right hands, right uppercuts and short blinding fast left hooks until Hatton's face goes from palid white to gory red and colours dark purple... I mean what's the point, all you guys shout soccer chants and go insane for some rounds and then disapointed to say the least, Floyd will trash talk him and the Union Flag afterwards, Ricky won't come out for a year or more and he won't get big money fights anymore, give it a rest please? Ricky is a great exciting fighter and he deserves more two or three years at the brightest spotlight

The 147 lb division is not only the hottest division in the world right now, but it's one of the hottest divisions in the history of boxing with a tremendous talent pool and some genuine contenders.
In fighting the best guys at 147 Floyd can attempt to dominate probably the strongest weight class since the days when Duran, Hearns, Leonard and Benitez were at welterweight, one of the true golden era's of boxing.
Hatton is a 140 lb champion, a division virtually devoid of any real talent whatsoever. It makes no sense at all for Floyd to drop down into what is essentially a safety zone away from the battlefield at 147 lb where sick and wounded soldiers go to recuperate and young recruits learn their trade away from the real dangers of war at 147 lb.
Floyd ain't sick or wounded and he's already passed his training so he has no business going there at all.
If Ricky wants to join the fight let him come to the warzone and meet Floyd on the battlefield, not expect Floyd to come looking for him on the barrack's parade field.
:coolclick: Logical logic that I totally agree with.

Re: Is Hatton v PBF gonna happen???
Williams, Cotto, Mosley, Margarito,
....... and all Oscar and that retired guy Floyd can see is a 140 Hatton ? :lolhaha:

It can be Cotto right away, yeah, Miguel and Ricky for hardcore, no-holds-barred, two fisted assault with the biggest hearted warrior surviving to call himself the toughest P4P fighter in the World - It would be a thrill for Great Britain and Puerto Rico - but in case Ricky needs a tune up or 2, beat Paulie Malignaggi pretty bad to submission and then step up to 147 pounds and take on Joshua Clottey... Finally he can Floyd at age 31 plus and considerably affected from inactivity cause believe me, Floyd is not gonna fight anybody relevant till then Ricky is definitely in the welter mix, Hoya is NOT, and I wish Ricky all the best
Re: Is Hatton v PBF gonna happen???
Listen, Wiz, if you really want it, get him at 140 pounds as soon as possible and maybe he'll be too weak and on the defensive so that Ricky can pressure him and produce another Tzsyu fight outcome. Or just take some good but not so difficult fights moving to 147 such as a rematch with Collazo, Joshua Clottey or even this guy Gomez, if Ricky feels alright then badmouth Floyd that he'll come back right at ya - that's what I meant, I wish no harm to Floyd, Ricky or anyone of you and most of all, I can have sense of humour but I never go to the point Gyrokai goes, trashing Ricky for no reason at all!
