Re: Just watching Hamed against Robinson............
He did pretty good against Barrera considering he wasn't throwing combinations. He just threw one punch at a time and tried to load up with the left.

If you have only looked at his record on Bocrec - then maybe you would think that ;)
If you knew something about him, i.e his until he got a world title shot (as a stand in) he used to be a reserve and take fights at 12 hours notice. He was agood honest pro and a lot better than his record looks

But I'm not buying that for a second.
Watching him at his confident, brash best it's simply unbelievable I've always felt his performance against Robinson was his greatest ever and it really was a clinic.
His reflexes were even faster than Roy Jones and floyd Mayweather imo.
Don't believe me? Go and watch for yourself.
This kid really had it all. Unfortunately his ego and arrogance became his downfall.
But man could he fight! :o
Iagree mate - I don't believe all this crap about him being all hype, I had the pleasure of going to watch the guy and he was amazing. He lost to an all time great - no shame in that - only shame is that he didn't have the sack to come back. He would've beaten any fighter out there except MAB and Morales

I think If he had stopped with Brenden Ingle and had he not got so cocky and trained rite i think he would of beat Barrera.
Re: Just watching Hamed against Robinson............
Naz was an exceptional fighter who was universally recognised the best at the weight after beating most of the champions including Tom Johnson, just the politics did not allow him to keep all the titles but that was not his fault. The Robincon fight was a flawless performance, which was his first fight at the weight and Robison was a decent fighter who had beaten aggressive fighter but had problem with movers. That Naz would have given Barerra a lot of problems.

Bilbo spot on mate cc
He was a genius and the money and fame ruined him, people who look at that Barerra fight and think that was the real Naz are kidding themselves and are letting the hate for the man cloud the fact he could of been a great, but he lost Ingle he lost his discipline and didnt train properly.

:coolclick: I remember watching his documentary of his 'preperation' for the Barrera fight. He barely trained at all, he thought he could just turn up and deliver an a** whooping.
He had no respect at all for Barrera and saw him as just another 'opponent'.
I have no doubt that had Naz gone in with a proper attitude of respect he would have won that fight. Barrera still couldn't hurt him and barely touched him. His loss was more of a Dominic Guinn style no effort lacklustre defeat. He wasn't hurt, he wasn't beat up, he just didn't fight that night.
A real waste of talent, he should have been the greatest featherweight of his era.
Re: Just watching Hamed against Robinson............
He easily would have beat Barrera if he threw combos and stopped with the showing off.
Re: Just watching Hamed against Robinson............
I laugh when people say he would have easily beaten MAB....

Agreed Mick, easily beat Barrera is just stupid, but Naz was already past his prime in terms of discipline and hunger for the game.
Re: Just watching Hamed against Robinson............
He was unbeliveable in his prime

He was elite enough to be ranked third by Ring Magazine behind Kelley and Johnson ;) Then Hamed came along and he dropped to tenth, still elite.

If his reflexes were as fast as Roy Jones as you put in this fight why is it in other fights he gets knocked down 3 times by Kelley wobbled bad by Ingle ?? maybe its because Robinson wasn't all that we was just decent thats it he was never elite.

He isn't elite i don't remember him beating any good names and when i watched him fight i didn't see anything elite about him.
