~Dat Nguyen vs. Gonzalez and Oliver vs. Carbajal on WNF~

I saw dat nguyen fight and was very unimmpressed. He shows little boxing skill. He does have great determination though and and some heart but he will only get so ino unless he gets a lot better.

Dat "Be That" Nguyen will be judged by many viewers this wednesday. Critics say he'll be the next Manny Pacquiao - "the next typhoon that will cross the pacific" as Merchant described him.

From what I've seen his handspeed looks decent, but it's not as fast as people were making it out to seem, his power is alos decent I would hope for his own good that he develops some power as he developes his body into the division. I would also like to see him more controlled more paced. The fights I've seen of him he looks a bit wreckless and wild. I know that's what hes been praised/liked for I just think if he put a little more defense in his efforts he'd look better.
One other thing to mention is I don't like the Manny Pac reference, I mean the kids got 10 fights and people are talking about him being the next Pac :(
Let's not do to Nguyen what we did to Bojado and others and that's get waaaay ahead of them.

Also I'm saying it right now Carbajal will beat Mike Oliver, I'm telling you. 8)

He played Linebacker for Texas A&M and yes he played for the Cowboys

So Dat just finished fighting he won a hard earned Decision.
He looked OK, but to be honest this wasn't necessairly the kind of win/style wise that he needed for his 1st nationally televised debut.

Good fight tho.

I missed the first fight, damn you ESPN! They change starting times alot...bastards.Saw the last few rounds and it was pretty even.

I just saw him on espn and he fought ugly against a mediocre fighter. His defense suck azz and has no punching power. I just don't like his fighting style.

But he can sure throw over 100 punches per round.

Yeah! they'll do that as the travel allover the states so times will change. I usually set the reminder the night before :)

And that along with punches landed is what won him the rounds.

This looks like a good matchup, I think its going the distance. I love these lower weight guys, glad that espn is showing them. Damn Oliver has a big ass forehead ;D

Rd. 1 - Good round for Oliver he was making Cruz miss and countered well, Cruz did land a few shots. Oliver threw close to 100 punches.

Oliver showing a really good inside game.

Cruz with some nice right hands, Oliver answering with some big hooks.

Oliver is countering nicely, he seems to have taken a liking to that left uppercut. Real good action so far, I see Oliver landing cleaner, and he is real fast even for Super Bantamweight.Carvajal keeps coming forward tho. I got it 2 round to Oliver as well.

What?!?! Godfrey is calling out Darnell Wilson? Oh no you didnt , he'll get sparked by the ding-a-ling man. ;D
