And theres the fact that, "what the hell is David Diaz doing with a belt" is the better question anyway you slice it. If Casamayor hadn't been screwed out of the belt then Id be asking the same thing as Ghoster here, to be honest. Morales being Morales isn't enough reason to put him in harms way when he hasn't shown he's capable of performing at a championship level currently. The thing that stinks about this is that I feel they only stripped Casamayor because Morales wanted another shot at 135. Legend or not, it's BS how the WBC just pulled some strings to get him his best possible chance of winning a belt, at the expense of the real champ.Quote:

That's why IMO this is a fight between the #3 lightweight (D. Diaz) & the #5 Jr. Lightweight (Morales) nothing more!!!
Agreed..Though I would say Diaz is at best #5 at lightweight as well... Casa, both Julio and Juan Diaz, and Nate Campbell are clearly better imo.. Guys like Katsidis, Edner Cherry, and Anthony Peterson would also whip David Diaz if you ask me.Quote:

the man MORE than anybody in his era (except for Barrera) has earned his right for this "belt."
He's the only fighter, since the great Ali to have two great trilogies with Hall of Fame opponents. (Pac and Barrera will get in.)
I don't think this fight should be made, to be honest, but the game has this much respect for him. If it were up to me, I'd either have Morales fight an easy and entertaining fight or exhibition in his home city in Mexico or just retire.
Nostalgia wants me to say Morales will win, and I'll root for him all the way, but I feel the same way I did about Gatti. I think he's shot.
Diaz by KO :-[
Diaz wins by KO.
Diaz wins but want Erik to.
