I think forums should kind of mirror real life. If you dont get along with a co-worker can you just ban them? No, you got to learn to deal with it. Or just ignore them.
You're right in that difference of opinion is what makes these places what they are...but idiots just upset the locals. These places are meant to be fun....people have enough S*** to deal with in their daily lives without having to deal with it on here.
So, if
some gentle pruning is required from time to time to keep the tone of the place, then so be it.
No one wants it to turn ito E*stside or DHB do they? ;)
Something about that "gentle pruning" line sounds evil...
Lol, for real though...like I said I love and rely on this forum for pretty much all my boxing info.
I just thought I would put it out there. It is important to keep people with "power" in check.
Or some day you cruel mods might have us mere serfs of saddos plowing your fields!
The reason that the 'pruning' line sounds evil might be cause you'll
have heard Professor Umbridge using it in the latest Harry Potter movie, and she was a bad cookie. And until I get banned for frequently posting whilst drunk, I'm gonna back Saddo's banning policy.
I think you may be right.
I don't know what the ex-Minister of Magic, also known as Cornelius Fudge, was smoking when he appointed Professor Umbridge as the new Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher. I mean, in fact it was she herself who had ordered the Dementors to attack Harry in an attempt to silence or frame him. Luckily, armed with his wits and knack for getting out of trouble, Harry was able to repel them using the Patronus Charm and was thus entrapped into using magic for self-defence. God help us all if he didn't.
She also shows prejudice against non-humans and part-humans (or, as she calls them, "half-breeds") and has drafted anti-werewolf legislation.
That is one ice cold bitch.
Um...thanks to wikipedia for that summary. Yes, wikipedia......
By the way guys, feel free to hit me up on instant messenger. My screen name is "PotterFan69"
;D
Re: Is there a banned list?
TheBestP4P was a prick
never seen a bigger faker (not hater hollaaaaaaaarrrrr) in my life
Re: Is there a banned list?
I finished the new Harry Potter book yesterday and... :-X
Re: Is there a banned list?
I had parts of the first book read to me in english class. Any fiction book that doesn't involve vampires = crap.
Re: Is there a banned list?
I won't give anything away but I think the pace of the book is a bit off. In the other books you get a sense of the seasons throughout the Hogwarts year. In this one something else happens but they seem to not be doing a lot for stretches at a time. It's like the first 400 pages are Rowling not wanting to finish it and then in the last 200 pages it gathers serious momentum
Not the ending I was expecting either :-X
Re: Is there a banned list?
I don't think you will find many sites with a less 'power hungry' set of moderators. Nobody goes round flexing there muscles and people are only banned with good cause. Maybe you don't always know the full reason why people are banned, maybe you don't see the pms they are sent in advance or how they reply ;)
Have you tried one of the other boxing forums? If youi did, I think you may change your opinion of this one ;)
Re: Is there a banned list?

I've definitely been on a forum with a set of power hungry toolmods and its pretty lame. I was suspended multiple times for absolutely nothing.

Not fair to say anything, mate. Some poor soul will be reading this thread and thinking 'you know what...not only is Steelie irresistable to ladies and the only known cure for lesbianism but he's a fucking good mod as well' and then they come across the ending of the Harry Potter books...
Not fair is it?

It'll be a movie in another year or two anyway.
Re: Is there a banned list?
Nah, I've turned down the film tie-ins.
I mean, who could they get to play me?
I genuinely don't think there's anyone out there that exudes sex appeal from every pore like I do.

Sorry bro, but I think that this one was the best of the lot. I thought it was quite exciting and the finish was quite good, though took two reads to really get my head round it and how it all ties together. I bet the 8 year olds reading got it all first time though.
