Try to watch Tito's fights at 147 Like some people would have say it ;D. "He was a Monstor for his weight"
Ill mention Mosley and Mayweather. I think they both would have beat him at 147. just like, as you call him, "the mayweather of that era" Oscar de La hoya, beat Trinidad. Tito was a great fighter, but he never beat a great BOXER, except Whittaker who was badly washed up. Quartey would have also beat him at 147 for my money.
Tito never beat a great boxer?????
In six (6) consecutive fights (starting with De La Hoya) he fought five (5) World Champions in three (3) different divisions, beating four (4) of them (lost to Hopkins) and one mandatory. Before that he has victories over Campas who was 56 - 0 - 50 KO (I may fail for 1 fight), Carr, Whitaker, among some others. Nothing bad for someone who had not fight anyone.
I didn't put boxer in capital letters to inform people that I was referring to anyone who had ever laced up the gloves and competed as a professional in the sport of boxing. I was referring to styles. He never beat a great, pure(or even close to it) boxer in their prime. He beat a few great fighters(one way past it), some great brawlers, sure. But the best boxers he beat were as Titofan stated. Oba Carr, who was very good but only very good by his own admission... David Reid, who had never even fought anyone besides Tito, though he obviously was supremely talented, and an old Camacho who had close fights with Duran's ghost.. Sure, Tito was a great fighter, (I don't know why Im needing to repeat myself) but he never beat another one. Let alone a great boxer, someone with great skills and experience using them. And just because the only people who ever beat Tito were ones with great defence, doesn't mean that those are the only kind of fighters who would have been capable of doing so.. Especially considering how badly he was taken to school by those 2 great defensive fighters he did fight. And Oscar doesn't have great defence, he beat Tito. So I don't really need to say any more.
As far as Mosley losing to Forrest being some reason why he shouldn't have been able to beat Tito... Forrest was a very tall fighter with a great jab and straight right. Tito is 1 for 3 in those areas, and is missing the 2 that gave Mosley the most trouble. I don't see what your logic there is. You may as well have said Mosley couldn't have beaten Tito because he lost to Winky twice... Even though he did infinetly better against Wright than tito did.
