This is a good topic....i wish i had a better opinion it's hard to look from a casual boxing fans point of view. Everyone i know regular fan or not loved the pbf/odh fight. It's hard to please people......they hate the skill and defense of the pbf/odh fight but i also remember how much the casual fan would bitch about buying a tyson ppv just to have him win in 90 seconds or whatever and felt ripped off....

I'm gonna add one.
Marquez - Vazquez was a great fight while it lasted and anyone who saw it is defenately goint to call his friends up and tell them "you gotta see the rematch, the first fight was awesome".
As for the DLH - PBF fight, it was a very entertaining fight which unfortunatelly was put in the possition of being impossible to live up to the hype. It was not the fighter's fault (check that DLH was the promoter so it was partially his fault) but this fight I'm sure did not win over too many casual fans.

Vazquez knocked down Marquez and had the momentum prior to the stop. It was not a one sided beatdown

now im a big floyd fan, but i agree with ya fellas, i was at the edge of my seat and all the way into the fight, and thought floyd mite be in trouble of losing, and i was proud of delhoya for putin up a good fight, floyd did win convincgly but it was a close fight

Vazquez won about 30 seconds of the round he knocked Marquez down and apart from that just got battered.
Watch it again, he had less chance than Miranda did against Pavlik. Marqez will knock him out again next time around, the only question is what injury will he quit with this time.

Read my post again. I said it probably turned off the marginal boxing fans. The fact that it was the biggest PPV of all time has no bearing on my point. The people that paid in droves to see the fight were already either hardcore fans or marginal boxing fans. There was broad-based interest. It is AFTER the fight that matters. What did the results of the fight do for boxing? Did it attract more fans? Did the marginal fans become hardcore fans because of the grand spectacle they witnessed? IMO, no. Matter of fact, many marginal fans probably got turned off by the perceived lack of action and may decide not to shell out another $50 for another PPV fight.
