Baldomir stopped Mikkel Kessler's trainer's (Richard Olsen) son's boxing career. Frank Olsen. He was like 30-0 before being stopped in the 10th. Olsen was never the same again and stopped within a year of the defeat.
What do you have against American fighters anyways?
Nothing, it is just so much easier to be an American boxer than a boxer from anywhere else due to the stupid hype that US boxers get. I dont like that issue as pure quality of a boxer should be the issue not the passport.
Every country in the world supports their own fighters. America is actually the most impartial country in the world, rarely do you hear Lampley, Merchant et all cheering for their national fighter.
Watch a Brit fight a foreigner in the UK or an Aussie fight an American in Melborne, or a German fight anybody in the motherland and you'll see what real partisan broadcasting is ;)
True, but I was not hinting the national broadcast but the generel attention a boxer gets.

Kind of like all that hype and attention Winky Wright had from the media for the majority of his career?
Re: Do the BAD petitioners feel silly now?
I always thought of B.A.D as a show for younger fighters so exciting or not,my point was it would have been better served to have some younger fighters on show. BTW,David Estrada won by stoppage yesterday and said he's going to beat on Berto, what do you guys think?

To be honest I don't think many people anticipated Tarver-Muriqui.
At least Baldo comes to fight and you know hes gonna try to make a fight out of it.
I really think Baldo-Forrest will be a pretty good fight.
I remember that, oumafan must be feeling pretty stupid right about now ;D

;D Why? Did you think it was gonna be a good fight? Seems like a bit of a stretch considering the two of them have been in like 1 exciting fight combined in the last 5 or 6 years.
I don't even know how good the fight is, but I will download it now.

Seems like it was a good night of boxing after all.
Maybe HBO were correct to screen it.....maybe ;)
Solid fight, Baldomir always exciting to watch.

CC Bilbo Its refreshing to have a non American give us props for once. We have a big media market and they need to write stuff, if it comes off as hype...well thats sells tickets.Peter Plys can hopefully decipher the fluff from the facts. I take it the English dont hype Hatton Khan or Calzaghe..Aussies dont hype Mundine and Katsidis, even Green for that matter. Its the same for every country tha has a decent amount of media coverage. Dont hate on us just because we have alot of fighters and alot of media too.

American's have the least biased commentaries in the world imo. You will never hear Max Kellerman cheer for Floyd when he fights Ricky Hatton but every single UK commentator will be 100% behind the hitman. I'll never forget Harry Carpenter when Bruno fought Tyson for the first time and staggered him. Carpenter yelled 'Get in there Frank!!!!!!!!' at the top of his lungs!
America by vrtue of being the Mecca of boxing has to show more impartiality but of course they are going to be most interested in their own fighters, and that's just the way it should be.
cc returned.

I think thats a great match for Andre berto. Estrada's got a big mouth but he's got balls and he can fight. It'll be a good competitive fight for Berto.

I hate to tell you but there is no way on earth that America is the most impartial country in the world, try telling that to the Swiss.
Re: Do the BAD petitioners feel silly now?
It was a decent fight, better than I expected but still nothing great. A good performance by Vernon but Baldo is just so limited,it's ridiculous.
Re: Do the BAD petitioners feel silly now?
I laughed when Baldomir stopped chasing Forrest and stood in the middle of the ring with a disgusted look on his face. :appl:

1998 was 7 years ago. And this does mean something since Forrest, who was an impressive fighter until the injury, is looking pretty good.

Dude it's 2007 now, so 98 was 9 years ago. What you been smoking? ;D
HAHAHA
Time really goes by too fast for me
Yes man I read that a couple of times. I thought I was smoking something.LOL

That's bull, at least on Sky Sports anyway, you'll always hear Jim Watt telling it like it is, his commentary on Hatton v Tszyu for example was 100% impartial, but John Rawling, Duke McKenzie and Barry McGuigan, fuck me they don't half talk some bollocks.

Bilbo's actually right. British announcers are so bias it's ridicules.
