Ive had a similar experience. They have these punching machines in the streets and sometimes its fun to have a swing after a few beers. I punched it all wrong and managed to bugger up my knuckle. I woke up the next day all swollen and black.
I try to stay away these days! ;)
Im not talking an inverse Michael Jackson here. Just that I woke up with a dodgy knuckle. :-\

The biggest gripe I have with them is that I can't get my footing right to throw a right hook ar it... because they have that stupid metal plate on the floor my stance is off

Maybe you should try standing dead straight. Not swinging through your hips and shoulders.

All my mates lined up once, all pretty strong guys and they all took their shots. All the fellas recorded pretty good scores around 450 and that and i was left til last, expected to be the grande finale!!!!
Everyone craned their necks forward to see the actual boxer hit the thing and i walked up with swagger ha ha. I set it up real nice, threw my best possible right hand and i new it was an unreal connection from the massive bang i forced out of it.
I smiled certain id beat everyone and then the number flashed up....10....What the?!!!!!!!!!
Next time i left hooked it...No READING!!!!! RED FACE FOR A MONTH AFTER!!!

Some of you guys think your taking these things too seriously? ;D
Every year theres a travelling fair that stops by my brothers house so we always go along. They have the type where the ball comes down on an arm and you hit it back up into its place. My Dad had a go half cut from the Sunday lunchtime and missed the fucker all together and clattered into the rest of it and sparked himself out ;D We got free goes after that, made the attendants day.
