I used to run a Branch of William Hill's before I came to Korea. Strange bets are always possible. It isnt the managers jurisdiction to refuse you a strange bet. They can always call their odds compiling's offices. If they refuse you outright then they are bullshitting you or else its a busy time of the day for them. They do work pretty hard (in large city centres anyways).
If they dont comply then threaten them with the customer service hotline. The manager of a branch of a bookies aint a fun job.

I bet the money is pretty good though. Did you have to pre-smoke the place in the mornings so the regulars wouldn't be lost in a clean, normal-smelling bookies?
But seriously....what did they offer you in Korea that's better than running a bookies?

I don't think that the bookies in Britain are quite the same as the dodgy dealers you have over there, being run by the mafia or whoever else runs the crime.
A William Hill or Ladbrokes betting shop is just the same as any other... the only shady back-alley bookie I've ever known is Killersheep.
