It is a good film, but I really liked Blade Runner (The Directors Cut), and would nominate that as the greatest Sci Fi film ever made.
There have been some good ones though ..... Alien, 2001, The Matrix ......................... Coneheads ;D
Yep Blade Runner is a classic, probably would win the most best sci fi polls and it is certainly one of the most stylish films ever and the Vengellis soundtrack is my possibly my favourite movie soundtrack of all time, it just encapsulates the film totally.
But Aliens has.....well lot's of Aliens and big guns so it just rocks ;D
John Carpenter's 'The Thing' is also definitely Top 5, another brilliant film right there.
Re: Terminator 4 Being Made Supposedly
Didn't they also make a remake of The Thing?

Don't think so, they did bring out a PC and console game based on the film a couple years ago though.
Re: Terminator 4 Being Made Supposedly
I remember reading something about The Thing being remade in the movies. Here's a link that goes along the same lines that I've read before: http://www.comingsoon.net/news/movienews.php?id=17598
It seems that a big chunk of the movie industry is making remakes of movies that don't need to be remade in the first place. Some can pull it off, most are just aweful...

The actor Michael caine said something unusually interesting recently - he said that the trend was to remake great films in the hope that this would make punters come and watch them. Unfortunately, these then suffer in comparison with the original, as the director is on a bit of a hiding to nothing. He said that what they sould do is remake poor or mediocre films that happen to have a good script.
I thought that was quite observant?
