Re: Your top 5 favourite classic fights?
An impossible thread for me. Any top 5 would change tomorrow.
Any of the Gatti: Ward fights
Any of the Barrera: Morales fights
Earl: Katsidis
Lewis: Vitali
These are just fights Ive watched recently. It will be different tomorrow.
Re: Your top 5 favourite classic fights?
Brody v chi 1 -Brody came so close to getting the upset, i no neither of them r great fighters but it was a great fight
Castillo v corrales 1
Arguello v escalera 2-Arguello puts him down 3 times with a left hook
Vazques v gonzales
Ayala v tapia
its hard to narrow it down to five cos my list keeps on changing as there has been so many great fights so i thought i would put a few fights down that havent been mentioned nd that r wel worth a watch if u get the chance.

Personal favourites in no particular order.
Lennox Lewis vs Frank Bruno - I was there in the crowd at Cardiff cheering on Lennox, the first fight I ever attended- the 1st World Heavyweight title fight between 2 Britons.
Lloyd Honeyghan vs Donald Curry - Upset and what a dominating performance by Honeyghan at Caesars Palace. The fight proved that nothing is certain when two men enter the ring.
George Foreman vs Ron Lyle - Not a fight of skill just a fight between two 'gunslingers' - Heavyweight boxing at it's most brutal
Thomas Hearns vs Roberto Duran - The right hand Hearns landed when Duran was on the ropes will stay in my memory forever - what a punch.
Nigel Benn vs Gerald McClellan - Watched this fight with the whole family as there was a party to celebrate my grandparents 50th Wedding anniversary.
A tragic, brutal fight that showed the heart needed to compete at the highest level and the sad consequences that sometimes happen in the sport we all love.
What are your Top 5 favourite fights?
Bruno and Lewis was nothing more than a jab fest with Lewis looking bad with his balance that was not a classic fight infact i find it hard even calling it a good fight.
Dwight Muhammad Qawi vs Evander Holyfield 1
Meldrick Taylor vs Julio Cesar Chavez
Bobby Chacon vs Boza Edwards 2
George Foreman vs Ron Lyle
Diego Corrales vs Jose Luis Castillo 1
There's always one! ::** ;D
I put my reasons and to me it was a classic. A favourite fight- it's all subjective.
Re: Your top 5 favourite classic fights?
corrales vs. castillo 1 the best fight ever
ward vs. agustus or morales vs. zaragoza
couldn't chose
hagler vs. mugabi
holyfield vs. foreman
lennox lewis vs. zeljko mavrovic
only reason why i liked the last was lewis was suppose to ko him like in the first but, mavrovic gave lewis a tough time taken his best punches
Re: Your top 5 favourite classic fights?

It was good round but nowhere near the best Bert Cooper vs Michael Moorer and Hearns vs Hagler are way better.

Well, note that I said the best 1 round fight in history (meaning a fight that does not last past the 1st round), not the best opening round in history. Most fights that end in the 1st are one-sided demolitions like Hagler against Caveman Lee or Tua versus Ruiz. Mancini-Frias began with Frias badly hurting Boom Boom, then Boom Boom turning it around to force the stoppage at the end of the round.

Age has nothing to do with our view on great fights from the past, i was to young to remember Olivares for example but his fights get shown often here in Oz and i love em'
