Re: Light Sparring Vids
Thats the one, Hands up is two way thing, you still get hit. Its about understanding the mechanics of movement when and when not to move. Its supposed to be the art of self defence, so get someone who can teach it. You will get to the stage where youre conditioned mentaly to accept getting hit, its a bad road to go down Lady. The lads youre sparring with havent got the skill to work with a girl. They should not be hitting you they should have the ability to solely work on there defence while you take note of movement, You are not getting the right stimulation its all a state of mind.

Re: Light Sparring Vids
I see what you mean Scrap. I don't think my instinct served me very well when I felt that pressure and force. I got angry and forgot my movement and defence - unless you count having him in a head lock at one stage - and letting him go again because i was POed and wanted to hit him! Bad brawling s**t!
Thing that gets me is the less experienced guys on the vids in this thread might occasionally put a moderately hard punch in - especially if I walk into it - but I'd still call it light compared to sparring with the Nigerian dude.
I wouldn't feel at risk of getting concussed at all sparring any of the other guys because it's not consistant or deliberate - just enough to keep me honest. i don't feel pushed to use any force back because I know they're not using all their force with me but against the Nigerian dude i got to the point before we'd finished where I really wanted to kill him!
