Not that this is aimed only at you but it is something that has crossed my mind lately. Let's say, for the sake of argument, that anyone could learn to fight like floyd. Would it be a great thing for boxing if everyone fought like him? IMO, no. It would make boxing very dull. He is considered boring for a reason. The only thing interesting about watching him fight is the people fighting him.
Well i don't consider him boring you are stating your opinion as a fact which it isn't i could name 10 Mayweather fights that are exciting.
Mayweather vs Ndou
Mayweather vs Sosa
Mayweather vs Gatti
Mayweather vs Corrales
Mayweather vs Burton
Mayweather vs Chavez
Mayweather vs Judah
Mayweather vs Corely
Mayweather vs Castillo
Mayweather vs Manfredy
Mayweather vs Genaro Hernandez

This was the last statement in my post. You have your opinion and I have mine. Many people feel the way you do and many people feel the way I do. It's what makes mayweather such a good topic to debate.

Which of those fights that were mentioned do you consider boring?
Re: Floyd Mayweather - Muppet Alert
I find mayweather's performances boring on every one of his fights. That's not to say he doesn't move or throw punches or get KO/TKOs from time to time.
Main reasons for not appreciating mayweather:
He is predominately a counter-puncher which = you create openings and I'll be glad to fill them.
He primarily backs up.
He primarily is only offensive when the other fighter is no longer in a position to be a threat usually due to exhaustion from chasing him or that were safe from the beginning due to their fighting style or age.
I find him mostly boring for never truly stepping up and taking on anyone who would be a real stretch for him, save one. This is the vane in which I will answer each of the fights proposed to me.
N'dou - props for floyd in taking on a taller fighter who is a power puncher. One directional fighter. This guy had no defense, was way too easy to hit and had to be set to punch.
Sosa - Slow and one directional. Up until this fight, his record reflected one other well known fighter and that was a loss. Shouldn't have even been in the ring.
Gatti - This fight should have never taken place. Gatti was shot already.
Corrales - see N'dou. RIP Chico
Burton (Augustus) - No power, record not worthy. Souldn't have been in the ring.
Chavez - Level of previous competition was aweful. One directional and too short.
Judah - Mentally weak, previously proven how easily he could be rocked.
Corley - No power, whole list of nobodys on his record except when he stepped up in class and lost.
Castillo - One directional, easily hit but, the only fight that I thought was going to be difficult for him. And it was, the first time anyway.
Manfredy - Slow, one directional and easy to hit.
Hernandez - Terrible class of fighters up until this fight. KO record padded by competition. Never should have been in the ring.
I enjoy(ed) a lot of the fighters in this list. I mean no disrespect towards them, I was merely listing why they made easy fights for floyd.

But then I got even older and realized that nothing can beat violence and hype. Scissors beat papar, paper beats rock, rock beats scissors, violence and hype beat ALL. ;)
Re: Floyd Mayweather - Muppet Alert
Hatton-Michael Stewart: Cool Fight, Hatton real Quick.
Hatton-Ray Oliveira: Ray way past his prime being molested by the Hitman.

Hatton-Juan Urango: Decent display, entertaining.
Hatton-Carlos Maussa: Sat ringside, never expierienced such an exciting atmosphere.
Hatton-Dennis Pedersen: Fair Cool. Ricky was a wrecking ball!
Hatton-Joe Hutchinson: Lil Joe Got owned.

All you have done is slate the opposition you still haven't told me why these fights were boring.
Genaro Hernandez had never been beating at Superfeatherweight and had beat guys like Azumah Nelson and his only loss was to Oscar Delahoya for you to say he shouldn't of been in the ring is a complete joke and shows you don't know anything about him.
I would bother with the others but i don't think i'll bother because your just slating his opposition no matter what tell me how many boxer's at the moment who have achieved as much as Mayweather and have beaten as many quality opposition as Mayweather ??
Re: Floyd Mayweather - Muppet Alert
Saying that Mayweather on the whole is not an exciting fighter is fine.... we all have different opinions on fighters and we're entitled to our opinions.
But saying that every one of his fights is boring, and that the only thing interesting is watching his opponent.... that shows that either:
a. you're just criticizing Mayweather across the board to prove a point
or
b. you haven't watched many Mayweather fights and don't really know what you're talking about

good observation. considering that our critic here have watched many of Mayweather's fights, then I choose letter a as the probable reason why he says Mayweather's fights are boring.

Maybe what was ment was ...only thing interesting is watching his opponent (and waiting To see If/when floyd will get KTFO ?)I don't know, It's like when you know a fighter is SO skilled & More Talented Than Who He's Facing that the consensus is "The Opponent" needs a KO to win. With Guys like Maywither, jones jr.,etc some just look For that from the opening bell?Who Knows.
Re: Floyd Mayweather - Muppet Alert
i cant throw hundreds in pools, im just lucky enough to have some

"All you have done is slate the opposition you still haven't told me why these fights were boring."
Yes I did, re-read the beginning of my post. The fighters were challengers and not challenges.
Genaro Hernandez had never been beating at Superfeatherweight and had beat guys like Azumah Nelson and his only loss was to Oscar Delahoya for you to say he shouldn't of been in the ring is a complete joke and shows you don't know anything about him.
OR, I was talking about Carlos Hernandez. Consider this:
1997 Genero vs Carlos - Genero wins
1998 Genero vs mayweather - mayweather wins. Genero retires after this fight and a 14yr career. Too old? Past his prime? Only loss was to ODHL, Azuma Nelson retired the year after the Genero fight and a stunning 19 year career. Way to go Genero.
2001 Mayweather takes on Carlos, WTF.
I would bother with the others but i don't think i'll bother because your just slating his opposition no matter what tell me how many boxer's at the moment who have achieved as much as Mayweather and have beaten as many quality opposition as Mayweather ??"
We could debate the rest of his resume let alone the rest of the fights on the list but we both have our minds made up.

You have a greater grasp of my opinion than anyone else.
