Re: HBO already working on Pavlik-Taylor 2?
There will be a rematch, but Taylor betta take it as soon as possibe and fire Manny Stewart as his trainer because the two are not good together. It was a great fight and Taylor can beat him, but he has to learn how to straighten up his fu#ken punches before he ever get in another ring.
Re: HBO already working on Pavlik-Taylor 2?
Dan Rafael of ESPN.com reported today that it is likely that Pavlik will fight John Duddy at the Garden on Saint Patty's day or Sergio Mora.
Re: HBO already working on Pavlik-Taylor 2?
Sergio wasn't ready for JT, but he is for Pavlik? ::** John Duddy? ::** I guess he deserves an easy one like has been said. I know Duddy can punch, but I don't think he'd be able get in to deliver before getting KO'd.
Side note: Why all the hate for Jermain? He seems like an alright guy that has a good story. So, many people are so happy he got KO'd and can't wait fpr it to happen again. I like both JT and Pavlik, I always just wanted a good fight. I could understand it if he was an ahole, but I have seen that as a side of him. ???
Re: HBO already working on Pavlik-Taylor 2?
I'm probably onw of the 5% out there who think Duddy would have a punchers chance. I'd still pick Pavlik to win, don't get me wrong, but Duddy has a heavy punch, and that always gives you a shot.
Re: HBO already working on Pavlik-Taylor 2?
Rematch would be great. JT looked great till the 7th round. If they fight again, I don't think Jt will hurt Kelly like he did in that 2nd round again. Kelly kinda did that to himself. He didn't respect JT's speed and dropped his hands. I don't think he will do that again. But I will pick Kelly to win by KO/TKO again. :lickish:

Read an interview where Taylor definitely does want him again.
Are you trying to imply that it was luck ?? if you are then thats crap because it wasn't one right hand that started the trouble it was 2 and they were both perfectly set up.
Oh i'm sorry so it wasn't one punch that did it, it was 2? ::** whats the difference lol
Like I said I just need to see it once more because I had Taylor up and winning this fight until that moment.

It baffles me as well, I'm not a Taylor fan (or at least I wasn't) but before this fight everyone was talking about how Taylor needs to perform and fight. He does so impressively and people are still hating him for that? Remember this is a guy who fought and beat P4P challengers in only his 20+ pro bout. How many guys can say they have done that? Give Taylor a bit more credit and respect. He'll be back

Yes it was 2 right hands the first one had him hurt and then the second one rocked him back into the corner one punch is lucky 2 aren't and especially when its very close fight it isn't luck.
Re: HBO already working on Pavlik-Taylor 2?
A) Jermain Taylor was NOT in complete control of this fight before the stoppage. It was a very competitive fight throughout.
B) To much is made of the second round. I give Jermain all the credit for knocking Pavlik down and having him stunned but some people seem to think that was all there was to the round. Jermain had Pavlik hurt for about a minute, it wasn't like Pavlik got beaten from pillar to post for the entire round.
C) Jermain has serious stamina problems. He started off great in the first half of the fight but you could tell he was starting to fade with each passing round. Pavlik's lack of speed, defensive faults, and KO mentality gave Jermain plenty of opportunities but in the end he was not only fighting against Pavlik but his own body. As he was getting pummeled in the corner you could tell it was a mixture of hard shots and fatigue that didn't allow him to recover the way Pavlik did.
D) Those who think Pavlik would run over Jermain in a rematch should think again. I believe Jermain had gotten complacent and now he has something to fight for. Besides B Hop Winky and Spinks all have one thing in common, making uninteresting fights and are all great defensive fighters. I will say that Winky has made great strides in trying to change his image. You can't blame JT for looking bad against these guys, nearly everyone does. And Ouma looked like he just showed up for a paycheck, so its easy to see why he has gotten complacent. Add that to the fact that HBO and Lou would make sure he wouldn't lose as long as he stayed on his feet and its a surprise Jermain didn't do even less. He was despised by alot of people but so what, he still had the belt and the title and regardless of what people were saying they were still talking about him. Now his critics hope he fades into obscurity and he will have to fight to get back on top where he was for so long and where he wants to be again.

I never ever called it luck in the first place..the thing that impressed me with Pavlik most was his clinical finishing of Taylor. Now my point was he landed the flush right that started Taylor off with the problems..but I and 3 judges had Taylor up until that point. My point being that had Pavlik not landed that killer blow, would he have been able to get himself back into the fight over the course of 12 rounds? Because he was losing..(IMO and 3 judges)
I'm not calling it a 'lucky punch' by any stretch
Re: HBO already working on Pavlik-Taylor 2?
Repeat performance...just this time without the 2nd round on the part of Pavlik.

Yes he would have because Taylor's stamina is very suspect and i was predicting Pavlik to stop him in the 10th round when Taylor fades with the high pace of the fight.

CC and you are absolutely right. Kelly lost respect and was playing and then he tried to taunt Taylor and he got whacked in the process. He will learn from that because he was never caught by anything like that again during the rest of the course of the fight. Someone else mentioned the same thing that during the time he was getting rocked and rolled and just before he got his legs back just for one second, it looked as though Kelly was going to stick his neck or his chin or his tongue out and try and throw a punch of his own in the process and that is when he got knocked down. Who ever said Pavlik was crawling around like a baby is full of shiet, he was dropped to his knees and got right back up as fast as he was dropped. I don't recall seeing Taylor trying to get up when he got dropped on his azz in the corner. I seen Taylor taking a nap like a little baby though.

Re: HBO already working on Pavlik-Taylor 2?
I've always said that I personally think jermaine needs some serious test run by a cardiologists. I noticed even in fights before bhop that JT would start fading after the 4th or 5th round. Now he looks like a specimen, but to train that hard, look that good then only be able to go 4 or 5 hard rounds raises a serious medical red flag to me. There have been plenty of athletes that displayed similar symptoms as JT that wound up having serious life threatening episodes or just flat out dropped dead on the spot during an athlethic event, it worries me that he has a serious contributing health condition (usually the heart or lungs) causing the abnormal drop in stamina. I mean even JT's KO looked odd to me. I mean he didnt do like most boxers, he simply looked like a guy falling asleep so peacefully, just kinda dropped down slowly in the corner like someone dying, it was weird. His lack of stamina along with the strange slow mo way of going down, he looked more like a guy dying instead of getting KO'd, scary. It also worries me that because he is a "cash cow" like all top athletes, a doctor could have been paid off along the way by promoters or whoever has interest in him to look the other way after finding there is trully a health factor causing this. I'm not saying pavlik didnt beat him, thats not what this post is about, its about all of us seeing the same thing over and over and over from a young fighter who looks physically like he should be able to go 20 rounds without a problem, yet afte the 4th or 5th, hes spent......bhop is 40 and had alot more energy than JT from the 8th or 9th on, once again, a 40 year old dancing around a 26 year old after 10 rounds says to me that the 26 year old has something medically wrong, its against the laws of nature, winky was the same way, JT was spent, wink had more energy, pavlik looked like he was just getting warmed up, a normal 28 year old JT should have looked the same, I've never seen another fighter that was spent that early in every fight, I dont believe a healthy fit and trained 28 year old boxer can box himself out in the 2nd round, something aint right. I have a cousin who has done well in the toughman contest thru the years, 2 years ago at age 27, he started losing all his fights becasue after round 1 he was usually spent and just couldnt go anymore, his wife took him to the Doctor, they discovered that he had a bad valve in his heart and was on the verge of death, they replaced it and he is now better at age 30 but no longer can fight, but like he told me, hes just glad they found out and now he can watch his children grow up.....I've seen this lack of stamina in my own life with my cousin, JT looks like he displays similar symptoms to me. If I were his trainer, he would not fight again until I personally took him to an un-biased un-influenced doctor who has no other interest in JT other than seeing him as a normal patient. Just my thoughts after seeing this over and over and over, think about it, this is a recurring theme, how could it be with his age and the physical shape hes in? ???
Re: HBO already working on Pavlik-Taylor 2?
That is a good post jman. I studied JT's earlier fights and he looked fine to me. I think the problem with JT is that he tries to live up to that Bad Intentions name where he feels he needs to load up on just about every shot he throws and there is no denying that he does throw some vicious punches but when he misses, he misses big and when you miss big, it takes a lot out of you. One would think that JT would not have been spent so early so as you say, there has to be something physicaly wrong. In other fights, I have seen him fade but never this quick. I don't think and I don't hope there is anything wrong with him since I have seen him go 12 enough times to stand by that claim but I am not a doctor and I think he should look into this just incase. It would be a shame if anything serious happend to him due to negligence of issues related to his health.
