roy jones by dec.. a much closer match then what most people might think..
spink was very good at LH
Roy would take Spinks to the cleaners? Just because Roy took guys like Pazienza and Ricky Frazier or whatever his name was to the cleaners, Michael Spinks is a different story and I doubt he would take him to the cleaners. Roy never fought the great fighters and he avoided greats fights until he had advantages. Sort of like Ray Leonard. I think Spinks lets Roy win a few rounds and then starts to land his punches and gets the right hand through and knocks Roy cold sort of like the Johnson fight.

What about Hopkins, Toney, Hill who went 12 rounds with Hearns ?? he took all of these guys to the cleaners plus he knocked out fighters with good chins like Thomas Tate who went 12 rounds with Julian Jackson.

Who did he avoid ?? i would love to hear the names.
Dariusz Michalczewski didn't want no part of Jones in USA he would only fight in Germany where Jones would have to kill Dariusz Michalczewski to win.

No way Prime Roy Jones would crush Spinks did you see what Jones done to Montel Griffin who was an awkward fighter like Spinks ?? ok Griffin isn't as good as Spinks but Griffin was still good fighter.
Roy will loss against Spinks power and his odd style and nothing you have said ice changes my mind. You are bringing up guys that were nothing like Spinks and if you are saying Roy taking Spinks to the cleaners i say Roy would be the one knocked out cold I am taking Spinks.
Ice, Roy never crushed a great fighter. Virgil Hill by 1998 was not the fighter he was in 1991 when he fought Hearns. Somehow he was not the same. Roy was good but he never wanted to have a chin test by someone like Spinks or Hearns. Guys in the 80s who always tested the other guys chin. Roy took on guys who he knew he could take a punch if he had to. Roy was good but all time great. Hard to say. He doesn't have any great fights. The same as Mosley.

Were all great fighters.

He was still great fighter after Hearns fight he went on 13 winning streak before losing UD to Dariusz Michalczewski then he fought Roy Jones Jr right after and Jones stopped him in 4 rounds and is the only one to ever KO Virgil Hill thats great achievement.

He never had to have chin test because he was that good.

I totally disagree you keep saying he ducked fighters and ect but who were these *big punchers* he ducked then ??

You don't have to have great fight to be All Time Great he dominated Hall Of Famers and won the World Heavyweight Championship when he started as Middleweight which hadn't be done since early 1900s and your telling me thats not ATG material ??
He beat Ruiz he was a the WBA champion Ice that is just a letter belt he beat Ruiz who is far from being great.
Now if he beat the man at the time then he would of been a different story Ruiz was not that man.
Your missing the point it doesn't matter if Ruiz wasn't great it was still great achievement that hadn't been done since early 1900s top that off with being P4P number 1 for nearly 10 years and beating 4 Hall Of Famers easily plus winning World titles in 4 different weight division that makes him ATG no question.Quote:

Qawi was a good fighter and later went on to Ok Leon and become a Cursierweight champion and Spinks was a very clear winner was not even close. And all those people you just mention for his best wins they were not even in LH so what is your point Roy never faced that great of people at LH his era was worse then Spinks. Not to Mention he was destroyed in Taver fight and Johnson which was past prime but still Spinks was only destroyed by Tyson Spinks was a better LH ask most people and he will be put at the top of one of the best LH and not to mention he was pretty good at HW not great but better names then Roy he beat at the weight.

Qawi was good but limited due to his size and Spinks was down in that fight and even in that fight it was quite close.

My point was Legend was question Roy's legacy so i pointed out the facts Jones still had the same skills he had at lower weights i mean he KO Kelly with his hands behind his back let me put it this way Spinks was good champion Jones was something else.
