It was in Germany however, and I havent seen the fight, so I venture to ask if it was a robbery? Or have people just forgotten the fight completely?

Wow,thanks for the news. Yeah,Sergio Matrinez is an excellent fighter,a slick southpaw who travels around Europe getting decisions/wins in guys backyards. He has only lost once,to Margarito. I totally forgot about him,an excellent fighter. Heck,a Mayweather nut hugger on this site made a thread about him and how impressive he was,realised Margarito had beaten him and was too embaressed to respond ;D He,Santos,Karmazin,Forrest,all dangermen at 154.

I'm not sure but arn't Alfonso Gomez and Julio Ceaser Chavez Jr fighting at 154 lb these days too? I wonder if our oiwn Bradley Pryce can get a title from amongst that group.
I think the division is one of the weaker ones but even so guys like Spinks, Forrest and Karmazin are still tough tests for a decent British domestic boxer.
I'd definitely fancy Santos to do well in this group though.

At the moment it is quite clear that anyone who can make 147 stays there (even it it takes some trouble), and anyone with a marketable name who cannot make 147 tries out 160 (even if they are less competitive there). I am not sure who is 'the leader' of 154, but perhaps it is not too unfair to go with the belt holders Forrest (who looked good against Baldomir), Spinks, Dzindiruk and Alcine?
Now that almost everyone have been mentioned in this thread, I'd like to point to James Kirkland. He is as good a guess as future main man as everone imo, especially if he keeps improving. As for domestic guys I actually believe that Evans Ashira (Kenyan, boxing out of Denmark) could make a splash - he may be mostly (but not fondly) remembered for going 12 with Calzghe, but he has looked good recently after moving down. One advantage with the division being 'weak' is that many of the top people have been meeting Danish boxers in the past (or at least been in talks to do so) or have had the same opponents as Danish fighters. For some reason that is not really the case at 147 :)
Outside the elite I'd also like to make a case for Christophe Canclaux. Very exciting to watch, although likely to be found out big time if truly stepping up. Current EBU champ Baysangurov is 22 and 16(12)-0 and might be a guy to watch as well. Havent seen him yet though.
