:coolclick: Agreed 100%.
If Kessler shows out & still does'nt pull a win...as long as it looks better than what Lacy was able to give he'll do fine in the future.

Hey Ono you wanna make this interesting and wanna make a bet then bro just me an you ??
Kessler's my man, no way he's losing, I've been waiting for ages for Joe to get beat.
Get back to me man an we will sort out what the winner will get (That's if your up 4 it ???) ;D
Re: Kessler will 'surprise' Calzaghe
I like Kessler and the way he fights, seems like a decent fellow, but I'm not betting against Calzaghe. Every time I think he'll get beat, he shows out and puts the whuppin' on the other guy.
I think Kessler will give him a great fight, but so far, Joe's just been too busy, too fast, and too slick.

The hardest thing of all is seeing whether age will take its toll. We've all seen examples of fighters getting old overnight and just finding out in their big tests that they don't have it anymore.
Whilst I think Calzaghe is smart enough to know if that happens, and I'm positive it won't, it could happen. But it won't.

the only real thing that worrys me is Joes timing...
He has everything he needs to get the win against kessler IF the timing of his hits are right... in his prime i would bet anyhtig joe would stop this guy, but right now its all about being smart, and he can do it all, but i worry the lack of sparring because of the hand troulbe could affect his timing, you watch je in the day and he timed punches as good as anyone ever did, but with almost no sparr time that could cost him the fight, he needs to be fast and time it to win this fight, his power has gone because of his hands, so he needs to out;and and out box kessler.
im still going for joe on points, but if kessler wins i will not be shocked, and i wont be gutted, i think he will be a great undisputed champ.

:coolclick: Heh heh heh.
Being a fan of both, but a Calzaghe fan first, I don't think that the hands are going to be a factor...in truth...I don't think that they have been lately...even when they came up for the Lacy fight.
I hate to say that...but I just don't.
Re: Kessler will 'surprise' Calzaghe
I like both fighters but I think Joe has far too much ring smarts for Kess, he's going to get hit from angles that he never knew existed just like Lacy. I think it will be a more even fight this time but I expect Joe to prevail by UD.
By the way its good to be here folks, I have recently been banned from the Hatton forum for high treason ;D

I wouldn't say they're excuses really, they're just the little things that start to set the doubts niggling at the back of my head, but I've always been a worrier, and was the same in the build-up to the Lacy fight.
Re: Kessler will 'surprise' Calzaghe
JC will win this fight. His style, speed and work rate is something Kess has never seen before. He'll be too awkward for Kessler. I think JC via UD. Calzaghe has awesome awesome skills and will cement his legacy with this fight. Surely there won't be any haters then?!
Re: Kessler will 'surprise' Calzaghe
Here is my opinion, how Kessler will win the fight
kessler will definatly land the straight right when calzaghe , misses with a straight left and falls in hands down, chin exposed.
it is a flaw in calzaghe , whats more calzaghe tends to bend down eye`s not seeing this punch coming , making it a harder more unexpected shot.
its possible calzaghe will be floored by this punch as kessler has the speed /timing and power to deliver this shot flush.
other than this/kessler has to control the ring center, as calzaghe will beat kessler IMO if kessler back up, kessler must get his jab into a rythem , landing or not to keep calzaghe from throwing so many combo`s, kessler must throw uppercuts to stop calzaghe getting the timing of his jab/cross and coming in and around them, and also to keep calzaghe from swarming in close.
left hook a big factor to stop calzaghe coming around the jab from his southpaw stance, kessler must get his lead left foot outside calzaghes lead right foot so he stays in balance and timing, from his orthodox stance.
although kessler`s best weapon is his jab, he must not plant his feet and go for great power in it , as his want but to double up on it and be lighter on his feet, this also will stop calzaghe getting inside.
must never play rope a dope with calzaghe, in this fight, tie him up on the inside and wait for the ref to break, as if calzaghe gets inside and makes it a phone box fight he negates kessler`s best arsenal which are long straight punches.
kessler must not blow his load early and must save energy for the later rounds as calzaghe can still throw a 100 punches a round in the last 3 to 4 rounds.
try to counterpunch the counterpuncher from range , dont reach with the punches/tie up when calzaghe gets inside ,let his punches flow at all times to counter clazaghe`s workrate, use light feet and move to his right as calzaghe likes to move and come in and around from kesslers left
BTW:It is not only my opinion, but many others,i read this on ESB and i have the same opinion,if Kessler can do this,he will win the fight

Interesting post . . .
About him ducking down . He has always had that posture . His stance is designed to almost curl up when a punch comes at him . He wraps his arms round the guy and once in the clinch he makes sure he gets his arms back on the inside so he can land his rabbit pucnhes . Then he is more than happy to box at range in and out with fast hands , sometimes slapping but sometimes setting up with bigger shots and when they come back at him he knows how to ( as you put it ) bend down . Its hard to nail Joe clean when he does that in this crouched position .
Eubank touched on it after his fight with Joe . His memory of the fight isnt what youd expect ie fast past , quick hands etc . He actually said Joe was very awkward to hit cuz he was never off balance and his posture prevented you from finding his chin . You can see what he means when you study Joe cuz he does it in every fight . He has a big frame and his chin is usually on his chest and he looks through his eyebrows like you are taught . Joes a very good fighter IMO

:coolclick: s to both...24 hours on yours jangeorg.
I still just can't imagine Joe gettin beaten & I truly believe that it will take someone like Hopkins to bully him around & hit him EVERYWHERE instead of trying to land flush & on point. Joe does throw constantly & from all angles.
I just don't see Kess being able to handle the rate.
Again...I have said it before...I'll say it again...if anyone is going to beat him...I'd want it to be Kessler.
He's good people.

CC back
Hopkins said he wants to fight Joe and Joe says he put 2k on Hopkins to beat Winky. Its a match thats gotta happen cuz they are clearly the top 2 guys around those weights . If it happend the winner would be the p4p best IMO . At the moment Hopkins is number 1 IMO but if Joe beat him he would have deserved the top spot .
Big ask for Hopkins cuz Joe wouldnt be outsized liek Winky , Tito and Oscar and Joe brings alot more than Tarver . At the same time Joe would have to be ready for a lot of tricks. Lets not get ahead of ourselves though cuz Keess may just throw a spanner in the works . He is a real threat
