Re: Is there anyone out there to give Mayweather a good boxing match
I dunno about Williams im still unsure of how good he is. I know he beat Margarito but Williams leaves his chin exposed at times and he hasn't fought a top tier fighter yet. Id say in a pure boxing match if Winky can still make 154 and Mayweather moved to 154 then i think Floyd would have big problems in trying to figure out a way to hit Winky. For me that would be a dream fight as i love good tactical battles due to the amount of skill involved. Any boxer can get into a war but very few can pick their spots and and out fox their opponant.
Re: Is there anyone out there to give Mayweather a good boxing match
Theres plenty.
Lightweight Casamayor
Welterweight Oscar
Welterweight Mosley
Welterweight Benitez
Welterweight Hearns
Current
Mosley
Williams
Re: Is there anyone out there to give Mayweather a good boxing match
I'd like to see the Williams fight just to see Floyd's tactical answer to the huge height/reach advantage. Given Williams' punch output, I think it would be interesting.
Re: Is there anyone out there to give Mayweather a good boxing match
Well Taeth,if you mean purely boxing, the Casamayor fight at 130 would have been good. Also,at 154,Spinks would try to box him,as would Simms and Alcine. In fact Simms I think would be awkward,h'e s big southpaw, with decent power. Also, and I may get slated for this but it's just a thought,Paulie Malignaggi would certainly try to outbox him down at 140(and he'll eventually move to 147)
Guys like Margarito,Cotto,Mosley and Williams would all try to outhustle him and outwork him.

I said it before and will again IMO Corey Spinks on his A game has an excellent chance of Beating Floyd....
I agree about Malignaggi as well.....In another year or two I won't be suprised to see Paulie on the P4P list...Kis can't punch but he can box..and Take a shot as well

I will get SC'd for this but IMO Spinks has a great chance of beating him if he came in top shape.....
At worst he would give Floyd fits
I'll CC for having the guts to say it. I don't think Spinks could win, but it would be a great BOXING match. They are both pure boxers, speedy, and skillful. It to most fans, watching it would be like watching paint dry, and even for myself, I would have to watch the fight during the day when I'm at all tired. This would be a fight for purest of the purists.
Re: Is there anyone out there to give Mayweather a good boxing match
The two who would give Mayweather the toughest tests would, without a doubt, have to be Paul "The Punisher" Williams and Miguel Angel Cotto. Williams' height, reach, and activity level would, without a doubt, make it impossible for Floyd to defeat him. Floyd has a better shot of winning against Cotto, but Cotto's pressure style and body attack would, without a doubt, be the stiffest physical test in Floyd's career.

CC back to ya...yes it would not be that exciting or maybe it would?...Floyd would definatly feel like he was the stronger man and be forced to be the agressor...it might bring out a whole new side of Mayweather we have yet to see..
If not then you are right it would be for the purist one of which I am so I would enjoy it

I just don't feel it.
Maybe if it was a match of elbows & headbutts...but that'd be the only way Casa would come out on top.
Casamayor is very slick and crafty as a southpaw, but I tend to agree with Wack, imagine it was the ams I think he'd struggle with Floyd.
:coolclick: Agreed. Then or now...I just don't see what everyone else does in Casa...& I sure as shat haven't seen anything that makes me believe REMOTELY that he could pose a threat to the #1 P4P fighter in the world...I mean...COME ON!!! ;D
I'm not saying now. I'm saying when they were both at 130. At 130 Casamayor would of clearly gave him a better fight than Corrales did.
:coolclick: Gotcha. My mistake. I thought that we were talking about here & now.

Out of everyone
This is the man to beat Pretty Boy Floyd !

Shane has always been the fighter I thought PBF should avoid . Ofcourse it depends on the outcomes of their next fights but if they both win which I think they probably will then all attention in boxing will shift to Floyd vs Mosley. Shane has quicker hands and better power . Floyd overcame that vs Judah but here he fights a guy less fragile and more experienced . I think Shane has a very good chance of beating Floyd

Hell yeah that would have been a great fight....Floyd would also not be undefeated right now if it did come off
LOL, he would have beat Casamayor... he was way too fast for Joel as good as he is.
Re: Is there anyone out there to give Mayweather a good boxing match
People don't see to be listening. Fight a southpaw isn't a pure boxing match, because first of all Mayweather isn't as good against southpaws, and second he doesn't really box them, he comes straight forward. That takes out all southpaws. Also I am talking present tense.

At this point there is no way Shane has quicker hands, feet, or reflexes than Floyd, also Shane has never really been a true boxer as is evident when he fought Oscar the second time, Vernon Forest, and Winky Wright. Shane has no footwork. I think he just outpunched Collazo, and outsped him, but Collazo was way to hesitant in a sitting duck kind of way. I am not saying Shane doesn't have a chance, but it should be a good fight. However to say he is faster now is wrong. Judah wasn't faster than Mayweather either, it was just Mayweather throwing target finders all night and not really getting snap behind his punches.
Re: Is there anyone out there to give Mayweather a good boxing match
If we were to coompare how shane disposed of a younger and faster OLDH versus Mayweather's win over a "rusty" OLDH, Shane could be just the man to give Mayweather his first defeat.
