Re: Jones Vs Trinidad in January 08' Does anyone really care?
I really don't care that this is on PPV. One cause I'm not watching it either way. Two because HBO (I think) doesn't have just an unlimited budget for regular non PPV boxing cards and if this one was put on there it might be at the expense of a much better fight.

If it's not PPV I'll watch it.
I think it is PPV, which means I won't be paying for it. I'd only watch the replay on HBO the following week if I hear it wasn't a borefest. If it's another Hopkins-Trinidad/Wright-Trinidad, been there, done that.
Are you kidding me?
You think tito - Hopkins was boring?
Pshhh..
That was a masterpiece on the part Of Bhop and it takes a true fan to experiance skill and showmanship like that
Re: Jones Vs Trinidad in January 08' Does anyone really care?
And this fight is at what weight?

Carzy stuff dude. Pavlik/Taylor{best fight this year imo} and Kess/Cal were FREE. But RJJ/Trinidad being sold to the public is almost criminal. Not trying to take away anything from these guys and their greatness, but at this time HBO can suck a test#cle if they think I'm paying for this one.
And then HBO run out of money?! Fucking idiiots!!!!!!!

I'll watch it because I'm such a fan.
You never know tho.
i remember mosley - vargas being quite similar last year and look whats happened to shane since then.
If roy looks good there is a chance that it will kick start something.

Much of what you say is valid, but I do have a problem with your claim that Trinidad is not a TRUE champion because he decides to retire. I mean, the man ducked no one and came to FIGHT every night!! Not a gracious loser? The man had nothing but respect for his opponents and for all people in general. I also think Trinidad is judged by his most notable losses to Wright and Hopkins, but he fought ELITE competition all of his career (you could look it up as Yogi would say), especially when he became champ at 147. As for his fight with Jones, I definitely care about it. Maybe I am like one of those boxers who keeps hanging on for that one last chance at glory. I am hanging on for that one last moment of thrill that Tito used to give his fans, when whole bars would erupt when Trinidad would suddenly erupt with that classic left hook. Since I have been watching boxing, no one has generated the excitement of Tito during a fight, at least no one that I have followed. So come January, I will be there at the Garden watching Felix and hoping for one more thrill ride.

Is it me or does Cotto allways look like he would nothing more than to beat the sh!t out of Tito whenever they are in a picture together... LOL
I am very interested in this fight as a big fan of both fighters. And I also have a funny feeling that this fight might be better than most think.

Dude, you seriously have personal issues with Tito. I don't recall Tito ever talking trash. If you recall CORRECTLY, Hopkins was doing all the trash talking before his fight with Tito. Remember the whole flag controversy when B-hop kept throwing it on the floor, stomping it? Remember when he did that in Puerto Rico and he was chased off the stage by fans and barely escaped death by running? Tito is not known as a trash talker. If he says he is going to defeat an opponent, or expresses his confidence, is that "trash talking" or confidence? I say the latter. The way you make it sound, he is like a Mayweather or even a Hopkins. Those guys are trash talkers. Tito's not. In terms of retirng, perhaps he doubts his ability to beat the top guys and retires because of it. Then maybe he feels that desire to hear the crowd chanting "Tito, Tito, Tito..." (and perhaps hears the ringing of the cash register) and decides to unretire. Is Oscar de la Hoya a sore loser because he retires every other day? Clearly, Tito unretires for the financial gain and if he says it's because he feels he can defeat the top guys, he's only doing what most athletes do-claim it's not about the money. You should know that dude.
Re: Jones Vs Trinidad in January 08' Does anyone really care?
By the way Daxx, you clearly care about the fight since you created the original post and keep "wondering" about how everyone feels. :-*

After the Mayorga fight Tito was not standing in the ring yelling he was #1?...He is the best?...The real champion??....C'Mon Rican.....I never said Felix was not a great fighter when he fought I just said he was a sore loser period!...Did he even acknowledge the fact or give credit to Hopkins or Wright for their wins? NO...OK Hopkins I can understand because Bernard totally went off of trash talk in the ring and insulted the Puerto Rican people with the whole flag thing...But what about Wright?...Winky is a class act all the way....No credit to his opp...Hell he went AWOL right after the fight....
You answered your own question Rican when you said he questioned his ability to beat the top tier....True fighters with the heart of a champion get back in the ring not walk away :-\...Sorry just how I feel about it...Like I said in my earlier post...His retiring after the Hopkins fight was one thing coming back making claims he was "BACK" and "Tito" is #1 came flowing out of his mouth like water over the falls until he lost to Winky...Then he went AWOL.....
As for Oscar...I am not a fan of his but his resume is one that can not be criticized win or lose he fights only the best guy available
