Calzaghe has no chance he couldn't even win last year when there was NO-ONE to beat
yeah but joe has had more maintream media coverage this year - which always helps.
they should def wait with hamilton - if he gets it this time what are they gonna do when he actually wins.
lewis has plenty of time how old is he 12?
Quote:
Top 5 this year should be:
1. Calzaghe
2. Hatton
3. Lewis Hamilton
4. Justin Rose
5. Nicola Sanders
6. Andy Murray
7. David Haye
8. Pardraig Harington
9. Paula Radcliffe
10. Jonny Wilkinson
id put wilkinson at 6 he lead the team the cup final!
also what about stevie g - captain for second time in champ league final

Stevie G led a team...the top 10 that I have put all have had huge inidividual accheivements:
1. Calzaghe - 10 years champion
2. Hatton - Beaten Castillo and Mayweather ;)
3. Lewis Hamilton - For a rookie to come second in their debut year...amazing
4. Justin Rose - European Order of Merit in the least ever amount of tournaments
5. Nicola Sanders - World Champion in her debut World Championships
6. Andy Murray - 3 months off and breaks into the world top 10 anyway
7. David Haye - Unified world champion and first time of asking
8. Pardraig Harington - Open Winner
9. Paula Radcliffe - New York marathon winner after having a BABY!
10. Jonny Wilkinson - Recovered from injury to lead England to the world cup final.
AMAZING

But last year there was no outstanding favourite. Remember, Darren Clarke was tipped to win, and we all know only nominated because his wife died. Then obviously the Toff nicked it for steering a horse.
The guy that drives the car is a HUGE favourite to win and has been ever since he showed everyone he's good at seering the car.
Calzaghe has no chance.
Re: BBC Sports Personality of the Year - won't be Calzaghe or Hatton will it...
look at that list of top ten contenders again
7 of the 10 are actual winners of something or world champions - surely more worthy
I will quote Top Gun at this stage - "NO POINTS FOR SECOND PLACE !!!!!!!"
Re: BBC Sports Personality of the Year - won't be Calzaghe or Hatton will it...
Only one of those came in second place!!! Lewis Hamilton and he broke new ground this year by having the best rookie season ever. Never been done before.
All bar 2 are world champs.
Jonny and Hamilton

Harrington aint British, and also Ricky beating Mayweather in Vegas is far more impressive than Calzaghe beating Kessler in his back yard.
Re: BBC Sports Personality of the Year - won't be Calzaghe or Hatton will it...
I love both of them!!! Love Love Love both of them! I'm a patriotic Brit to the full!!!
But Calzaghe has done this for 10 years. I know the awards are what has happened over the last year, but Calzaghe has never been rewarded for a 'Decade of Dominance'.
I just feel for the guy.

Mormeck had been koed a few fights before. he was nowhere near KLESSLERS level

Fenster has a point i suppose the betting shows that Haye had a harder night in hand than Joe. Joe is also on another level to Haye, hard to say but i think like you say Mormeck had been exposed before but was still a hard mo fo to take out, if i had to pick id put them on a par. Both great performances.
Re: BBC Sports Personality of the Year - won't be Calzaghe or Hatton will it...
yeah thats about it, skel
Calzaghe-Kessler was a far bigger fight between the two PROVEN ELITE supermiddles in the world but Calzaghe was the favourite and had NOTHING to prove.
Haye has a lot of knockers, plenty were predicting failure, plenty have critisized the choices made - he has no stamina, he has no chin, he doesn't train right etc - yet he said along he'd go into the no.1 undisputed champs backyard and knock him out. And that's exactly what he did. Impressive :)

That's odd...he had nothing to prove yet prior to his fight with Kess, many people on this forum were calling him Calcrappy...yet I haven't heard it once since he won!!
I think he proved a point to a few
Oh and I'm not saying you guys did, but it was banded around!!!

Nothing to prove to ME. Calzaghe already had his place amongst the best ever supermiddles.. the Kessler win (arguably his best) just solidified/enhanced his standing.
The people calling him overrated before the fight haven't got a danny. Most of them don't like him because he's NEW to them and comes from the wrong side of the pond. They'll be back in force with all the "Calzcrappy" nonsense once his next fight is signed ;)
