I've heard many people have a problem with Ellerbe, and frankly, I just don't see it. He is BY FAR the most reasonable member of Team Mayweather (like being the tallest dwarf). He is seldom profane, and he is mostly quite measured. He supports his guy...but that's his job. Right?
These guys have problems. In much the same way that Mayweather needs constant positive acclaim for his boxing skills, Hatton seems to need the social acceptance of his peers. I don't think one is superior or inferior to the other. It's just ...different. Oscar blows off steam by dressing up as Tinkerbell. Er, I'll tolerate Floyd's cash fetish.
Donald Trump and Martha Stewart and Oprah need to put their name on everything. Bill Gates built a huge ridonkulous house. Meanwhile, Warren Buffet brownbags his lunch. People are just different.
I sometimes bristle at Hatton's characterization of PBF. Ricky has to understand that some people are different. RH's viewpoint is a form of intolerance.
Also, Ricky said that he has 33,000 fans and Floyd has 33. Ricky perhaps should reflect on why he is making his biggest payday for this fight.
Graham seems like a reasonable guy. He is bothered by the fact that (many) people consider Hatton as one-dimensional. In truth, that would be an indictment of his training abilities. So I understand why he rejects that criticism. But Chavez and Duran are pressure fighters who were ALSO fine boxers. Ricky has yet to display that breadth of skill. And it's doubtful that he will on 12/8.
Mayweather is a cardio machine. But he seems do do the same training techniques for every fight. I understand that "if it ain't broke, don't fix it", but he is also nearing 31 and fighting a smaller man than his last two fights. It would seem that some adjustment would be appropriate.
Whew. Those are my observations from the first ep.
Wow!! Interesting observations. I would say, and maybe you will agree or not, that through the last few years Mayweather has been very vocal about Hatton and basically relegating him to amateur staus as a fighter. Up until the Castillo fight I don't think I had ever heard Ricky say anything negative about Mayweather and really just praised him as a fighter with great skills, which he still does. I know alot of this is for drama, but I was happy that Ricky finally shot back at Floyd after defeating Castillo, and all of a sudden Ellerbe and Floyd say they got disrespected. Seems hypocritical after the previous years of bad mouthing a guy who never spoke poorly about them{or at least I never heard them, which doesn't mean Ricky didn't}. So for you to say that you bristle at Hatton's characterization of Floyd and call him intolerant, it seems you could say it 10 fold about Floyd's dissing of Ricky for no reason for several years. Yes I am a fan of Ricky, but also a huge admirerer of Floyd and think he'll win, so I don't want you to think I'm a nuthugger of Hatton and trying to infuse a riot of words with you. To me it's ironic that Floyd and Ricky can't find commom ground with each other as they both don't get the credit they deserve, more so with Floyd as I'll accede to him having overall better opponents, but still they both get railed by people. Ricky's got balls getting in with Floyd and yet no one seems to want to give credit for him taking the plunge into deep water. People criticize European fighters for being scared to come across the pond but Ricky has and is now coming to fight the best. If he didn't everyone would say he's a coward. And when Floyd beats Ricky alot will say he took a money fight with a bum and he'll have to beat someone else like Cotto before he gets credit. And Floyd, yeah I don't like his personality but I'm sure he wouldn't like mine. He should love his kids and his mom; I'd think less of him if he didn't; but all that kissing money and calling his opponents that are responsible for him to make money{it goes both ways} bums is b.s. and it gets old IMO. Anyways, I'm starting to ramble so my apologies. Nothing personal DIOS.
Re: The Official Mayweather-Hatton 24/7 Thread
I really find it very difficult to say anything nice about Floyd Mayweather outside of the ring because his philosophy is to take as much as possible from somebody whilst giving as little as possible back, he needs the backing of all those people he pays around just to get through another 24 hours, becuase deep down he knows he's a bad person. He's a spoilt brat and the last person I'd want enjoying my hard earned money on December 8th, but at the end of the day it will be compensation for the beating Ricky Hatton will give him. Floyd will be leaving the MGM Grand on a stretcher, that will be the last time we see Mayweather in the ring, unless he decides to become a gay porn performer.

It goes both ways bro'. Floyd tells everyone that Hattons fans are really coming to see him, not their "British Idol" Hatton. That's just as silly as Hatton saying 33,000 vs. 33. It might sound as if I'm trying to get into a pissing contest with you, but I don't do that on here man{except if Violent Demise implies I wear dresses and panties} ;D

Well it seems that PBF is a complete prick, but from what I read.....everyone that actually meets him in person says he is a really nice fellow. Even had a guy in the ring that liked him because he was a big tipper...LMAO
I would say he is spoiled too.....but he isn't. Spoiled people don't come into fights against bums in EXCELLENT shape. He doesn't take anything in that way for granted. I dislike him as well but give the guy some credit.
And no Mayweather won't leave on a strechter unless the crowd gets him. O0

Hatton as been trash talking Mayweather since at least after Tszyu fight.
Re: The Official Mayweather-Hatton 24/7 Thread
Hey Ice il grab that link of you before the next episode if thats cool?
I think this is a more interesting series than Mayweather Dela Hoya 24/7 as these two men are as opposite as is imaginable....both in fighting styles and demeanour. I'm looking forward to it and it will serve as a good starter before the main course Dec 8th....(hopefully finishing with a dessert back in Manchester!!!)
Re: The Official Mayweather-Hatton 24/7 Thread
i think the beef between Hatton and Mayweather started a while back at a fight think it was Barrera Morales 3 not sure but Hatton tried to introduce himself and Mayweather basicly told him he was gonna whoop his ass of something along those lines. Hatton they went about on radio and tv in the UK saying he didnt rate Mayweather for beating up fighters who were there for the taking ie Gatti (ironic since Hatton wanted Gatti) Shamba Mitchel, Zab Judah ect. I think its a bit of bitchin from both sides. As for Mayweathers personality i dont really mind it you can tell the majority of it is front and him calling guys hes beat bums in most of his fights he has made the other guys look like bums. Most of the guys Mayweather has fought have been completely dominated aside from Castillo and maybe De La Hoya. No point in giving a guy respect for taking a beat down.
Re: The Official Mayweather-Hatton 24/7 Thread
Last 24-7,I was really starting to feel for Mayweather and all the family abuse etc. Now,I don't really give a crap. Every human being has been through difficulties, doesn't mean we all have to act like complete tossers like Mayweather. It's getting old, hearing the same old shit about his family etc etc. Oh my name was Sincalir, you don't know every0hitng about me?Fuck of!!(and yes,I have been listening to that foul mouthed bastard Billy Graham too much :D :D ;D ;D)
I can't stand Hatton's fighting style, but he is one nice, funny dude.He cracked me up,the part with he wants to kiss my ass, then he showed his perky white ass(which I'm betting some Hatton fans would kiss!) How can you NOT like Hatton. People say his personality is boring, well so is Mayweather's. Watch1 of the(in total) 5 24/7s and you'll have seen all there is to know about Floyd.
I look forward to hearing more from that crook Roger. He is one crazy, crazy dude. Last thing,I'l be cherring for Hatton loud as heck for this fight and IF this fight had been in England,I would give him a huge chance of winning. Did you see when Floyd was in Manchester, those fans, with some basic chanting which EVERYONE is subjected to in England, were getting under his skin. He was visibly upset.I really hope the Hatton fans amek ALOT ALOT of noise,to make it hostile for Mayweather.
I love Mayweather's talent and think he'll win but I want Hatton to win this one badly.

No he hasn't
He's been saying 'floyd is the number 1 fighter on the planet' for the last 3 years.
Re: The Official Mayweather-Hatton 24/7 Thread
Found it very entertaining myself. Floyd mayweather came across as an arsehole until he was talking about his family and childhood and I warmed to him a bit more. But, he doesnt have an ounce of wit. He thinks he is funny but I am sure he pays all those sycophants to laugh at everything he says.
Billy Graham seems to be the star of the show.

I was there in Manchester that time and believe me, the Hatton faithful were on form, It was more than basic chanting, they were baying for blood, Mayweather will know that there are literally millions of people who want to see him lose in brutal fashion.
Re: The Official Mayweather-Hatton 24/7 Thread
Interesting episode.
To the guy who says that hatton is intolerant, my reply would be, so what? Maybe I'm getting carried away but I don't like how this word is thrown around these days, usually trying to make someone out as a bigot. We're all intolerent of certain things, who on here would tolerate somebody insulting their mother or wife or sister? It's a free country and Floyd can act how he wants, but Hatton is also free to respond in kind. If that means saying, "this guy is a dick" so be it. Personally, I think deep down, Floyd is not a bad guy, but I do find his behavior to be childish and disrespectful. Maybe I'm too gentlemanly for boxing, but I don't like all this thuggery. Of course if you take one listen to Roger or Floyd Sr. it's not hard to see why he is that way. That being said, I think it's mostly an act. Floyd acts like this for two reasons; 1) the pyschological factor, for himself and his opponent, 2) to hype the fight and sell tickets. He's even admitted this. Remember before the Gatti fight he was completely disrespecting Arturo but after the fight he gave him a hug and when asked about his behavior, he said "man that was just to sell tickets." So Hatton probably shouldn't take it personally, although that's easier said than done.

Yeah Dan,sorry poor wording by me,my point was Floyd was getting hammered by those fans and he could not handle it.Imagine if the fight had been in England!?

CC,a very good post. I agree with most of it,but I think there is a side of Mayweather that is a bit of an ass. I think sometimes it's to sell tickets, but, for example, when he was with his friends and talking about Floyd money making Mayweather or something or whe he throws $$$ in the air/at the camera,I think he has that it in him. Regardless,I want Ricky to beat him up! Nothing but a humbling experience for Floyd! Come On RICKYY!!!

Yo El G do you have a lin to dload this first ep i aint got sky or sh*t and cant wait to this, nice 1 bro.
