PBF knew that De La Hoya would tire he is past his best and has never had great stamina. Hatton is coming in to this fight alot hungyer than Hoya was all though Oscars footwork is faster than Rickys,Ricky is a underrated boxer people look to far into the Collazo fight.
Hatton can not try to out box Floyd and wont bover trying,he will stick to what he does best and that is pressure fighting and hooks to the body. Hatton will push Floyd all the way but iam still not convinced he can win enough rounds to get a decision.

The only thing this has in common with Holmes Cooney is that the favorite it black and the underdog is white. There isn't any race baiting going on over this fight, and Hatton, wheither you think he has a chance or not, Hatton is a fully developed fighter in his prime. Cooney was prospect who got rushed and exploited. Cooney would have never beat Holmes, but he could have been a much better fighter if he wasn't handled so poorly.
So, no, this ain't Holmes Cooney.
Re: Is Mayweather-Hatton Another Holmes-Cooney?
I'm sure to some sections it might be Holmes/Cooney; to the idiots that want to put it and label it that way. Same could have been said{and probably was by some} that Pavlik/Taylor was similar, except we all saw what happened on that one. I see it more as Duran/Leonard myself, as have a couple of others. Really I just see a very intriguing fight between 2 HUMANS who bleed the same color and walk upright on 2 feet. The rest is just p#ssy sh#t for bigots on both sides.

I think Floyd will be expecting lots of body shots coming his way and will have his elbows tucked in nicely. Hatton will need to go to the head and try to counter Floyd's shots to get some decent body punching in. It is going to be one huge Mountain to climb as Floyd is so fast and smart in there.
If Hatton can keep the punches flying, and non stop, he could out point Mayweather. I cannot see that happening though. I just have a feeling that Mayweather will discourage him more and more as the fight rolls along as he will be one difficult target.
I would prefer it if Mayweather took him lightly and got his a$$ handed to him. I will be keeping my fingers crossed for sure!hehe Hatton will have to fight a fight where he can offer more than what he has in the past. If he can mix it up, throw straight punches, jab his way in and get the uppercut working, he could then keep Mayweather on the defensive enough and pull off a decision.
