Undocumenteds benefit the US economy far more than they cost it. If they were a cost to the US economy instead of a benefit there would have been a contantly-patrolled double 20 foot concrete wall built along the southern border for a century now.
America has never enforced immigration laws and never will. That's why every decade tens of millions of immigrants come over the southern border and are periodically amnestied. The business of America is business, and America needs cheap labour to keep the wheels of commerce greased. If importing vast quantities of Undocumenteds is going to upset a section of Documented-Americans, that's just their tough luck.
America will forge closer economic union with its neighbours but isn't going to become part of some superstate.
Having lived in America for a number of years, I have to say that conservatives and GOP voters are the biggest dummies imaginable. If cheap labor and outsourcing is so good for the economy, why is it that everybody except for rich people who can't be effected unless there's a major recession, is taking a hit? Gas prices as well as the prices of everything else keep going up, The value of the dollar keeps going down, and the people who can hold onto a job that hasn't gone overseas or been given to some idiot that will do it for less are making the same every pay check. It's a bad economic policy and its the fast track to fuedalism. a few rich people owning everything with unlimited servants to do whatever they want.
The whole reason america was made was so that the people could have the chance to die several social classes above that which they were born and didn't have to fear for people already making the money preventing them from doing that. Obviously this country needs a new name as it no longer holds up the ideas it was created for. Taking in a bunch of third world people and lowering the value of our jobs will make this place nothing but a bunch of sweatshops and owned by international investors. I agree with most of this. The falling dollar and rising gas prices are both due to Bush's current dumbass policies. The effects of globalising the economy are going to mean massive changes to the social structure in America but in both the long and the short term cause overall GDP to increase much faster than previously. How that economic growth is then shared out among the population is going to be the biggest bone of contention. Since Reagan it's been nothing but trickle-up.

The reason OPEC continue to throttle production is because the Bush administration is printing historic quantities of dollars to prop up the economy after his "tax cuts" were such a disaster. Every bump in the economic road is monetised out of existence by printing historic quantities of dollars, which has unfortunate consequences.

You can drill all you want in the US but it won't make any difference. America passed its peak production levels in 1970 and has been on a downward slope ever since. This is yet another issue you've been bsed over by the GOP -- opening up ANWR for instance would produce 500 000 -- 1 million barrels per day in ten years, only a small fraction of the increase in consumption America will experience between now and then. The only region of the world capable of massively increasing production is the Middle East, home to over half the world's oil reserves. Bush tried to fix his oil problem by invading Iraq, but like everything else he's done that turned out to be an unmitigated disaster.
